Bytes: Tom Cruise Really Is Crazy

The Geeks of Doom   |
  • Tom Cruise‘s crazy antics have finally caught up with the perpetually smirking actor. Paramount Pictures has cut ties with Cruise’s production company because “his recent conduct has not been acceptable to Paramount,” says the chairman of the studio’s parent company.
  • After a parent in Britain complained about smoking in a TOM AND JERRY cartoon, the Boomerang channel cut scenes from two episodes of the ’50s cartoon. “We have now pledged to view Boomerang’s entire library of favorite cartoons and remove all other references that could be seen as glamorizing smoking in all our shows,” said an exec for Boomerang’s parent, Turner Broadcasting UK. The cuts will only affect Boomerang UK.
  • STARGATE SG-1 has been cancelled. The longest running sci-fi series in U-S history will end after its 10th season.
  • A DOCTOR WHO spinoff starring Billie Piper, who played Rose Tyler in the show’s first two seasons, has been scrapped. The show was to be called Rose Tyler: Earth Defence.
  • South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone are working on a Godzilla spoof called GIANT MONSTERS ATTACK JAPAN. Production is expected to begin next year.
  • CNN did a short segment of Star Trek at 40 with William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy reminiscing about the show, which debuted 40 years ago this September 8. Watch the video here.

Stargate is not the Longest Running Sci-Fi Series in history.

Doctor Who is the longest programme, which originally ran from 1963 to 1989 and then came back in 2005 and is currently shooting its third season.

Stargate is the longest-running sci-fi series in the U.S., surpassing the X-Files. Doctor Who, of course, was a British show.

    1. tom cruise is an idiot and has a little dinkus, and two little tiny balls that jingle every time he takes a step. We all know he hides the hamster every sunday at around 3:30 pm.

missed the “U.S.” in that —

Alright who the fuck gives a big shit if Tom Cruise is a wacky bastard. He is one hell of an actor and when your job is acting. That is all that matters. If you think he is crazy why dont you look at all the people around you obsessed with technology and tv shows. Is someone beleive some aliens came and stirred the primortial soup anymore crazy than someone saying two naked people were tempted by a snake to eat an apple which made them horny.
