The Grindhouse director is in talks to helm film adaptations of two classic television shows.
Director Robert Rodriguez in talks to direct feature film adaptations of classic TV’s The Jetsons and Land of the Lost.
The Jetsons, based on the 1960s television cartoon about a space-age family, would be a live-action film for Warner Bros. Pictures. The latest draft of the script was written by Adam Goldberg, who penned the screenplay for the upcoming flick Fanboys.
For Land of the Lost, based on the 1970s Sid and Marty Krofft TV series about a family trapped in a alien land populated with dinosaurs, the director met with Universal executives and Will Ferrell, who’s attached to star.
No offers have been made and it’s not clear which project, if any, Rodriguez will sign on to do.
