Every time an ignorant commenter demands to know why “I am your father” was not included in this list – which is clearly designated as containing ONLY quotes from the original Star Wars film – Darth Vader stomps a puppy.

Yes, it’s one of the most memorable Star Wars quotes. No, it’s not one of the most memorable “Star Wars” quotes because IT WAS NEVER SAID IN THAT FILM.

Just searching the web looking for a good Star Wars quote for my ten yr olds year book. When I found this site. Its an hour later and my face hurts from all the laughing. Thanks for the site and thanks for all the posts. I personally love the all the Han Solo quotes and couldn’t pick a favorite. I do strongly agree with another poster who stated that the world would be a better place if we spend more time doing things like this. Now, “go about your business … Move along!”

So it implies that the puzzling speech of Han Solo is “misinformation” and not truth, and it has nothing to do with the nature of the Kessel Run in any respect. Han means nothing other than impressing Obi-Wan and Luke with pure boasting. Indeed, even in the final version of the script, the parenthesis attached to Han’s line states that he is “obviously lying.”

hey about the kessel run debate, naturally the people that support lucas would be right, with the whole shortened because he flew so close to a black hole theory.
that was explained in the books where luke first starts his new academy.
UNFORTUNATELY, if you do some research, you’ll find that originally lucas ment for this line to be an obvious lie. sorry guys i was dissapointed myself since i liked through the black hole defense in my friend’s faces, oh well

and i mean anyone that respects the star was universe should know that this movie was released with the title star wars and nothing else, it was revised to star wars a new hope around the time they came out with empire strikes back.

But going near a black hole will only lengthen both your run time and distance. If you want to travel between 2 points travelling through flat space is the shortest distance. Going near a black hole might slow your local time down but to external observers your trip will take longer.
