‘Good Luck Chuck’ Trailer

Good Luck ChuckI thought for sure I had posted this trailer already, being as I LOVE Dane Cook (please, don’t be a hater cuz the guy’s hit it big), but I realized I didn’t.

In Good Luck Chuck, comedian turned actor Dane Cook stars in this romantic comedy as Chuck, the guy every girl wants to sleep with, because once they do, they then meet the man of their dreams. This is why Chuck is such “good luck.” Chuck enjoys all that meaningless sex until he meets the girl of his dreams (Jessica Alba), but can’t have sex with her for obvious reasons.

I’m glad to see Dane Cook get a leading role like this. He was great in the small part he had in Waiting, and the trailer for Chuck looks really funny. (Watch the trailer here after the jump.) But the movie poster? Ack, creepy. Yeah, I know it’s a play on the famous John Lennon/Yoko Ono Rolling Stone cover, but it just doesn’t seem to fit for this movie.

Good Luck Chuck hits theaters on September 21, 2007.

  1. Looks like a really horribly written hollywood movie. The only reason to go see would be Alba and of course for only perverted reasons. Cook is already washed up and hes barely starting his career, I look for this when its in the 4 for $8.88 bin at Wal-Mart (maybe).

  2. Uhhhhg, Dane Cook is the bane of my existence. And I’m not a “hater” cuz he made it big, I’m a hater cuz the dude is NOT funny. Remember a couple of years ago when he was really popular? I dunno how many times I had to sit down and have an intervention with my friends who actually thought he was funny. I tried watching the guy do stand-up multiple times, and walking around furiously with your arms in the air isn’t comedy. He’s a hack. If you want true comedic genius, try Zach Galifianakis or go old school and watch some classic Pryor or Murphy.

  3. Dane Cook definitely has charisma, and he’s obviously good looking, and I think that’s why he’s become so popular. His stand-up is nothing revolutionary, it’s pretty standard stuff, but his energy makes it so much better than the material. I do have to agree with Owns about Zach Galifinakis, though, he does some awesome, almost avant garde stand-up.
That poster is extra creepy with a cherry on top! The worst part is the god-awful Photoshop job they did on both of their heads. Those are obviously not their bodies. You’d think big studios would either be able to afford good Photoshop artists, or be able to get their actors to pose for the friggin promo shot. Sheesh!

  4. The reason people hate Dane Cook is because he steals jokes. He’s blatantly ripped off comedians like Louis CK in the past (google it), and somehow every preteen twat still runs around proclaiming him as the laugh Jesus.
