USA Today has a first look at Nicolas Cage in Walt Disney Pictures’ National Treasure: Book of Secrets.
In Book of Secrets, the sequel to 2004′s action adventure National Treasure, Cage returns as Benjamin Franklin Gates, the historian/archaelogist/conspiracy theorist who this time around sets out to prove his ancestor’s innocence in association with the Lincoln assassination.
A connection between Mount Rushmore, the Statue of Liberty, and the Eiffel Tower serves as a key plot point in the film, as does the title Book of Secrets, a book to which only a U.S. President has access which contains the answers to the secrets behind every national conspiracy.
National Treasure: Book of Secrets, which also stars Jon Voight, Harvey Keitel, Helen Mirren, Ed Harris, and Diane Kruger, hits theaters on December 21, 2007
