Movie Review: Highlander: The Source

Dr. Geek, Ph.D.   |

The Highlander franchise has a long and checkered history with creative output that has often been more bad than good. This production record will not be improved by the latest made-for-TV movie in the franchise, Highlander: The Source. The production disappoints. There is only the semblance of a plot. Characters are poorly drawn. Lack of subtlety and a real back story leaves the ending feeling empty.

Comic Review: Witchblade Takeru Manga Vol. 8

Tripp J Crouse   |

Witchblade Takeru Manga Vol. 8 definitely warrants a purchase, if only for the breathtaking illustrations of Takeru and her rogues’ guild of baddies, illustrated with a mix of grindhouse aesthetic and the traditional manga style.

DVD Review: Dragon Heat

Movies At Midnight   |

While Dragon Heat may skimp on the plot and development, and then demand that we actually care about characters when they perish, for adrenaline junkies that just need one gun battle after another, Daniel Lee’s outing is a delicious pu-pu platter that is catered specifically to them.

Movie Review: Mr. Woodcock

The Rub   |

Mindless and predictable, Mr. Woodcock is the kind of movie that works best when you’ve seen everything else, there is nothing on TV, and you have nothing else to do.

Movies At Midnight   |

Ie Approbation has set out to give some willing and adventurous readers a compilation of sorts of the varying genres found within their publishing company while at the same time paying homage to the pedal-to-the-metal speed of the serials of yesteryear, then they have certainly succeeded.

Movie Review: 3:10 To Yuma

Dr. Royce Clemens   |

Every director should make at least one Western. It’s as simple as that. I don’t care if they’re in vogue or out, whether they make money or not. If you hope to be worth a damn behind the camera, you need one Western under your belt. Landscapes, violence, sweat, grit, faces with evil intentions or [...]
