This was an excellent review. I liked this film myself, although the original will always be my favorite film of all time. I even like HALLOWEEN 2 more than this one because of how silly it is. But unlike alot of people, I was able to go see this one with an open mind in the theaters without comparing it to the JC version. I bought the Unrated Director's Cut a few hours ago but I haven't seen it. I'm sure I'll like the film a bit more a second time.

As for the alternate ending, it was the same ending in the original workprint. I agree...the theater ending was MUCH better than the alternate one. It was just so sudden that it took my breath away, actually making me want more. The alternate ending reminds me of HALLOWEEN 4 too much.

I heard there won't be a sequel to this according to the Weinsteins, unless something was really different from all the other HALLOWEEN films. I honestly wouldn't want to see another one. I think Zombie, who directed this film extremely well, ended the franchise on a very high note.

I thought that this movie was an excellent film on its own. As a Halloween movie, no. This is not a Halloween movie. There is way too much put into this movie for it to be related to the eight other low budget, slapped together, but decent horror films. There was too much good shit in this movie that took away from what the original Halloween gave us. A cheap, quick put-together, slasher flick with some sort of back story. This movie was not that at all. I'm glad it's called Rob Zombie's Halloween and not just Halloween, or Halloween: The life & times of Michael Myers.

So, to repeat, I don't hate th emovie, it just didn't feel like I was watching a Halloween movie.

Awesome review and one little mishap, the other sister's name is Judith bubba, not Julia (that's the evil stepmother from Hellraiser). That's alright though, we'll let ya slide on that one.

I liked this film too. We are in the minority, but I did not have a problem with this film. I was impressed that he made Michael scary again. Great review. I think I need to buy this one now.
