This film seems to have come out of nowhere. I am not impressed by the poster. Spoofs have worn out their welcome a long time ago. This one just reeks of its badness from the poster.

I'm going to admit that I enjoyed the first Scary Movie to a certain degree, and even today I'll laugh at it. But for everything else, I agree with you.

I knew this one was going to be terrible. Parody films are now nothing more than pop-culture references with fart jokes, made for a quick buck and have absolutely no staying power whatsoever. Does anyone honestly think people are still going to be laughing at Britney Spears and Tom Cruise references in 20 years? No, but Spaceballs is still hilarious. Why? Because the jokes are not topical and the parody is actually intelligently done.

I feel like I'm too young to be saying things like "When I was a young, parody movies were actually funny." But that is the way I feel. It is sad to Neilsen fall so far from the days of The Naked Gun.

Parody in general is a sad remnant of its former self, and we mostly have the "______ Movie" series to thank for that.

Absolutely spot on review. I, one million percent, agree with you on the sad state of satirical parodies. Fart and barf jokes have become the norm and pop culture references have never qualified as comedy to me either. But much like the state of the music industry, our movies seem to be fodder for morons with no sense of entertainment value, just the bottom line. And unfortunately our younger generation seem to be easily entertained.
