How ironic.

Earlier this week, I wrote about Brett Ratner possibly doing a God of War movie and how bad he would be for it (see Brett Ratner to Direct ‘God of War’?). Now comes word of another movie he is in talks to direct — Beverly Hills Cop 4.

THIS is a movie that I can see Brett Ratner directing. It’s very likely to be nothing like the other BHC movies and also very likely to get the cold, hard PG-13 treatment, but who knows, maybe they’ll pull a shiny miracle out of their ass.

Eddie Murphy is apparently already attached to reprise his role, which I think could be good for him — he needs to step away from the awful crap he’s been doing and get back into movies made for adults — but this of course means avoiding the aforementioned PG-13 rating and sticking to the Beverly Hills Cop roots.

This could officially (and somewhat confusingly) make Brett Ratner a very busy man, as this and that Playboy movie that he’s supposedly making with Robert Downey Jr. as Hef could be all-but-sealed. Add the rumored God of War gig and he’s booked, but let us hope that all the other stuff leaves him little time to dance with Kratos.
