‘Twilight’ Stars Get Cut Off At The MTV VMAs [w/Video]

I suffered through teh MTV VIdeo Music Awards not to hear the music (oh lord, no), but to see the presenters. As I Tweeted earlier, the VMAs would be a pretty cool show if only there was no music.
Anyhow, an hour into the show, Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, Cam Gigandet, and Taylor Lautner, stars of Summit Entertainment’s highly anticipated Twilight, came out to introduce the live performance for best rock nominee Paramore.
The intro was incredibly brief and all the actors got to say their lines, except Pattinson, who was obviously supposed to do the actually announcement, but he only got to say “Please welcome…” before VMA host Russell Brand cut him off and started blabbing. Pattinson tried to talk into his mike two or so more times, but couldn’t get a word in and in the end, it was Brand who said the band’s name, which led into the performance.
Ok, fine, it’s a live broadcast so shit happens, but what’s insulting is how MTV has been promoting the hell of out the fact that the Twilight stars would be at the VMAs and then you barely see them and they get cut off, too.
What makes me laugh is that BEFORE the show aired, MTV Movies Blog posted an entry asking Twilight fans to post their reaction to the VMA presentation, thinking, I’m sure, that everyone would be so happy. But after that foul up, the comments are coming in from many a pissed-off fan.
So, screw MTV’s page, leave a comment here below to let us here at Geeks of Doom know what you think of the botched-up Twilight presentation.

That complete idiot cut off Robert Pattinson!!! i was all saturday wating for this shit and then that russell whatever (cuz no one knows who is this man that suddenly appeared from nowhere!)do this to Rob!!!& i’d bet he is gay, and did anyone noticed that this guy was copying Jonny Deep??? when this stranger cut Rob i was like ”WHAT???, HOW COULD HE???!!! HE DID’NT LET ROB TALK WITH HIS PERFECT BEAUTIFUL GORGEOUS VAMPIRISTIC VOICE!!! HATE HIM, HATE HIM…!!!” AND A BUNCH OF OTHER INSULTS… so, yeah this is basically how i felt… A WASTE OF TWO PRECIOUS HOURS OF MY PRECIOUS LIFE!!!

I wasted an hour of my life watching an awards show that sucked, waiting to hear Rob speak…and then he doesn’t speak.
I know this isn’t MTVs fault. It’s Russell Brand’s. I don’t like him anymore. HOW DARE HE?!

I bet he never had to do this much publicity for a movie before.
Like I said, this wasn’t MTV’s fault but they shoudl try to make it up to us….by giving us a really really good twilight tuesday.

I AM SOOOOOOOO PISSED THAT RUSSELL BRAND CUT OFF ROB WHEN HE WAS ABOUT TO INTRODUCE PARAMORE. one of the only reasons why i watched the VMAs was to see the twilight cast present! the whole show was ruined for me when russell cut off rob. i didnt even finish watching the rest of the VMAs cuz i was so mad. UGH! I am very dissapointed right now! i can’t believe it! i was so stoked and excited when they came out and i was most looking forward to Rob speaking, then all of a sudden i didnt get to hear his beautiful engilish accent voice, and i screamed! i was like “WTF?! STUPID RUSSELL JUST CUT ROB OFF! HE IS SUCH AN IDOIT!” i mean, for russell brand to just cut rob off like that was just plain RUDE.
SO MY ANSWER IS:

Somebody should of punched his dumbass out….hint, hint to Cam or Taylor who could of easily taken him. The entire reason for watching it was to see Robert and the cast. So… I like Russell Brand. I like his type of humor. He’s a character, that one is. But… That was so rude. I waited all night for the Twilight cast to come out (having Cam there was a great surprise), and then Rob gets cut off by Russell. I mean, yeah, I wanted to hear him announce Paramore. But rather than freak out that “OMG EDWARD DIDN’T GET TO TALK”, I’m just upset that Russell didn’t even apologize. I kinda feel sorry for him – Twilighters everywhere now have their bullseyes on Brand’s forehead.

Im glad we got to see the cast (of whom, kristen look great for once and not like she just rolled outta bed) but it was a big dissapointment with that D-bag Brand thrown in there. Poor Rob.

I was sooo mad. I work at night so I made myself get up two hours early just so I could watch the Twilight cast on the VMAs. I even watched the opening act just in case they showed the cast coming down the red carpet. Which they did not. I was absolutely appalled when the Twilight cast finally came on during the show and then had to watch Russell Brand talk over Robert Pattinson. How rude can you get? I was livid the remainder of the night and refused to watch the rest of the show. Russell should have been slapped.

I actually watched the VMA’s to see the Jonas Brothers and the Twilight cast.Brand needs to make a name for himself in the US, but not this way. Robert Pattinson is a really cool guy, so I think he won’t be too upset.
The MTV host was incredibly rude! A host is supposed to make guests feel welcome, not treat them as if they didn’t exist. There was so much hype from MTV over the Twilight cast and it was a huge disappointment! Taylor walked out with Kristen then stood right next to her. Robert went to stand close to her but was behind her. Cam pulled him to the front – at least he knows Robert belonged in the front. What is it with Taylor? The book revolves around Bella and Edward, therefore the actors who are protraying them should be front and center! Ugh – Taylor is just like Jacob – always attempting to get in the way! News to Twilight promoters – we don’t want to see Taylor with Kristen in the pics!

He’s not funny at all, all I could think while I was watching was “somebody get him a hairstylist” and then he made the worst mistake possible, he cut off our King, Robert Pattinson, who by the way took it very graciously, he’s what I call a gentleman, and Mr Brand a jackass!

i think russell Brand is beyond RUDE… its not like they dont know who is supposed to say what… as the host he obviously knew who he was presenting and who he wasnt… so i DO believe it was a rude move on his part… Bc MTV has been promoting Twilight i feel that they should have made it a point for the cast to receive a proper introduction and made SURE that EACH AND EVERYONE OF THEM got the moment of glory they deserved… Rob, like the gentleman that he is, did not fuss about it… but that is why he has an adoring fan base we should do the dirty work for him!!!

First off, it is pretty pathetic that you will watch the VMA’s for how long it is on, to see 4 (count ‘em.. four!) people introduce a band. When you can apparently just watch it on the internet afterwards. So what was the point of you staying up? .. There was none, right. All of you are making fools of yourselves. Also because it is over the cast of a movie that COMPLETELY ruins the book. That cast is a joke. In the book the characters are supposed to be beautiful. The cast they picked is the complete opposite.. (I am a die-hard fan of the books) None of them are even decent looking. And I praise who commented on their boring monotone voices and all the people who applauded Russel Brand. Their voices are very boring and I can’t stand it. Russel did an excellent job at hosting the VMA’s, which usually aren’t as entertaining. He was hilarious, and so what if he made jokes and interrupted people! You yourselves probably are huge ass bitches to people you don’t even know.. obviously since you don’t know Russel and you are completely dissing hime. Because he also had somewhat of a script (unless you were too stupid to notice) it isn’t like he made up every little thing he said!

Well, I am very frustrated about what happened, because the first thing that encouraged me to see the Mtv’s was the appearance of the cast of Twilight, and it is a shame that the guy try to doing of the funny one.

What I find utterly fascinating is that the movie which brought us the ultra cool sneak peek of Edward and Bella in his bedroom, “Penelope” had Russell Brand in it. I just watched it again today and was taken aback to see the guy who has all of us riled up and about to form a lynch mob. Life is weird sometimes.
At least video’s are now surfacing from before and after the show of our beloved cast. We should have saved ourselves the agony of actually watching the show and just caught it online. Much less painful that way.
