This movie didn't seem to answer any of my questions about why humans find it so important to be faithful. I really feel the human brain will find a way to fill in the void when you go looking for something in this world, whether it be God, Allah, Buddah or Aliens riding on comets. It makes you wonder if Bill knows that religion is not perfect because it is a man-made creation. Faith is real. I like faithful people because they try to do the impossible by trying to follow a perfect ideal. Without faith, the ideal becomes simply, what's popular, what's easy, or what our intellect can grasp. I'm glad no one could provide an adequate answer for Bill's questions. Faith isn't a math equation or a really good argument, if it was, we couldn't not believe and we'd all be robots.

A quotation: "Faith is believing in something you know ain't true." --H.L. Mencken (or was it Twain?).

And a recommendation: Christopher Hitchens' GOD IS NOT GREAT: HOW RELIGION SPOILS EVERYTHING.

Let's face it, folks: ALL religions are cults. We can do better. And must, if the planet and its myriad (though fast disappearing life forms) are to survive.

Cheers,
Eric Mills

Is it biased? Of course! Is it fair and balanced? Of couse not! How can you be any of that with recycled 1st century superstition? To the faithful; See the movie, and if anyone out there can answer his questions better, post them here. Until then, don't try to bring out your little black bag of demons, boogie men or vengeful, jealous sky gods to scare me. If you have a personal relationship w/ god that gives you comfort and puts a smile on your face, great, just don't use your "faith" to ruin my day. Being charitable, kind and loving, regardless of the reason (God), is the answer. Why can't that be enough?? For all the reasons explored in this movie, it just isn't.
See it before you opine!

I liked it a lot. Even though it is not perfect, I think Maher is a natural in this format. I appreciate what he was doing here.
