It'll be missing the best parts, so it'll suck.

Unless they want an X rating.

It'll be like watching the theatrical version of Eyes Wide Shut, where mysterious black CGI figures obscured almost the entire screen (during *that* scene) so that we could see maybe a flailing ankle or bit of tossed hair.

Best thing they could do is what they did for Caligula -- get a production company that could manifest what it's really all about. Then they could tastefully edit out the naughty bits for the theatrical version (they'll do that anyway), and reinstate them for the DVD. Instead, what they'll do is write and direct it from the ground up based on only what will squeeze by the MPAA ratings. Sigh.

*SPOILER*

How the hell will they manage to pull of an "acceptable" rating if one of the main characters (hell, the damsel in distress) kills people by screwing them!?!?!? I bet they change it to something significantly less fun. Like kissing. Or winking. Or perhaps her tears will kill someone, and she has to get all emotional. Bleh.

I still look forward to it. It's one of the first anime movies I've owned, and despite the criticism of the movie, it's one of my faves.
