Just finished watching the season finale. I enjoyed reading your review as it echoed my feelings on many facets of the finale—especially the ones regarding Dutch and Shane.

Did anybody else feel like the writers tried to pull a fast one with the whole “immunity” thing? I know that it had to do with giving up Gardoki, but would the feds really be desperate enough to agree to this? Perhaps this is a moot question considering how many implausible things took place over the course of the show, but for some reason I just can’t get over this one last little detail. And BTW, we all know that Vic would slither out of that desk job in like two weeks, tops. The final shot of him brooding out the window and stalking off in the dark did not feel like a final ending spot but rather the beginning of a new chapter of the show that will never be made because Chiklis wanted to go be a super-hero dad on ABC. ]

Everything sucks now that this show is off the air.

Not too belittle the final moments too much, but my mind couldn’t help but creep in the idea that The Shield was the prequel to The Commish.

A brilliant series finale !

I’ve loves The Shield every step of the way and ending on such an episode was amazing.

I think that both Andre & Dutch’s storyline in this episode are vintage “The Shield” : the Strike Team isn’t everything and Ryan doesn’t say everything.

I agree that Walton Goggins gave a heartbreaking performance in the last few episodes. The man showed that there is good in bad in all of us. The performance has haunted me for a few days now. Good job to him and the rest of the cast for what may be the best sereis finale ever on tv.

I didn’t watch the last two episodes “live”, so the moments where the tension was ratcheted up i had the good fortune to pause the show take a breather and go back in.

And still I feel pistol whipped. Shane and his family’s end thoroughly shocked the $#!~ out of me, wasn’t breathing properly till the credits rolled.
Amazing.

Sons of Anarchy became a suitable filler last week, with the death of Opie’s wife.
Amazing!
