Tron 2 has made two casting announcements for the scheduled 2011 sequel to Disney’s 1982 neon-fest, Tron.
Olivia Wilde (13 on House, Alpha Dog, Turistas) has been cast as a worker in the virtual world who helps fight the villain, which is apparently the same villain from the first film. Also cast is Beau Garrett (Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, Turistas), who will be playing a siren. The male lead has not been cast yet.
Joseph Kosinski (Logan’s Run [2010]) is directing the sequel which continues the story from the first, which sees a computer programmer get trapped in a computer and forced to compete in the games he programmed.
The sequel plans to shot this Spring.
No mention of what happened to this film’s original ghetto-fab title Tr2n.
