Happy Holidays Readers of Doom,

Wow! This has been an amazing year for Geeks of Doom. Together, our team of selfless contributors has helped us publish over 1,750 articles this year — reviews, features, news items, and opinion pieces from every corner of the geeky spectrum.

Our team of contributors has grown exponentially. So many AWESOME people have decided to freely pitch-in and help make Geeks of Doom what it is. We’re nothing without our contributors and you all help create a fresh and interesting place for geeks like us to hang out and opine off a cliff. Thank you, guys and gals of DOOM! I mean it. THANK YOU!

We made a lot of great new friends in the film blogger community as well. Thank you all for your friendship and all the help along the way: David, Devindra, Adam, Peter, Alex, Kelvin, Vic, Neil, Mike, Wil (please forgive me if I left someone out. I’m still rockin’ a pretty big Francis Ford Coppola wine hangover). You each rule mightily in your own way. Thanks for being both friends and examples to us. Every day is a learning experience and you all make learning waaay more fun then school ever did.

Also, as I’m sure you’ve noticed we’ve been giving away a TON of awesomely cool shit on the daily. We gave away Telescopes, Playstaion 2s and 3s, Video Games, DVDs, CDs, sweet books, signed posters, and seriously neat schwag of all kinds. That’s all thanks to our readers. We wouldn’t be able to do it without your patronage. You’ve helped us achieve a lot of “Firsts of Doom” this year. Empress Eve and I covered both New York and San Diego Comic Con, which were life-changing experiences for us. We were accepted as an official Google news source. No I’m NOT kidding. We ARE part of THE news. We’ve broken traffic records and ranked in the top 10,000 in Technorati, and I got to interview Wil Wheaton, which as silly as this may sound to some people, has been a lifelong dream of mine… man, this list goes on and on. Seriously. A lot of great stuff has been going on here. So thank you to all of our readers, old and new.

Lastly, we’d like to thank all the wonderful promo people we’ve dealt with over the years who’ve been so generous to us, as well as fun to work with. A very special thanks goes out to Nicole at USHE, who not only took a chance two years ago on this tiny little geek site with no contacts, but so kindly passed our name around, which started to ball rollin’ on this crazy geek thing. Best wishes to you, Nicole, we’ll miss you!

Anyhoo, Eve and I, and all of the staff of Geeks of Doom wish everyone a Merry Christmas, a happy Hanukkah, a wonderful Kwanzaa, a festive Festivus (thanks Angie), a squishy flying spaghetti monster day of pirates & meatballs, and a happy New Year.
