Very recently a ton of screenshots from a grainy Japanese Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince showed up, but the actual trailer was nowhere to be seen.

As expected, that trailer has now been unveiled by Blog Hogwarts, who found it somewhere on YouTube.

The video is pretty congested and tough to see, but it does have quite a few new bits that we haven’t seen yet. It also gives a little more insight into Jim Broadbent‘s Professor Slughorn character (for those who haven’t read the books) and his place in the next story.

In this sixth installment, Harry learns many things about the dark past of Lord Voldemort (Ralph Fiennes) after discovering a book which claims itself property of the Half-Blood Prince.

Along with Broadbent, Half-Blood Prince stars the usual suspects with Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint, Michael Gambon, and Alan Rickman among many others. David Yates returns to direct the screenplay written by Steve Kloves.

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince will be released on July 17, 2009.
