It is the first film to truly strip away the mythology and romanticism of The Godfather films, The Sopranos and Goodfellas. At times in its bleakness it reminded me of City Of God if it reminded me of any film. Great review. Not an easy film to watch, but certainly an important one. I finally watched it last night.
