Firing Squad noticed an early description of the super-sequel that is sure to be Mass Effect 2 on Amazon; and with how messed up that first teaser we saw was (Read: What The Hell Just Happened? Mass Effect 2 Teaser Trailer Unveiled), how could you not be psyched for that, right? The description is overall, pretty bleak and depressing, so the game should be heavily packed with insanity.
Don’t get too excited, as there’s not worlds of information in the description, but every little bit is enough to get giddy about. If I’m even more curious now after reading this.
The second chapter in the Mass Effect trilogy takes you to the darkest reaches of space, where you must uncover the mystery behind the disappearance of humans across many worlds. Prepare yourself for a suicide mission to save mankind. Travel the galaxy to assemble a team of soldiers and combat specialists, and launch an all-out assault on the heart of enemy territory.
Mass Effect 2 is said to be built so that when you put the game into your system, it will read your stats from the original game and go from there. This means that returning characters will depend upon who did or didn’t survive your first game. This also means that if you have not played the first yet, you should immediately.
Mass Effect 2 is currently looking at a possible early 2010 release, but no official date is set.
