Alright, Alright, It’s Time To Accept It: ‘Terminator Salvation’ Is PG-13

The Movie God   |

Terminator Salvation

It has been topic of much discussion and much debate, and after many curious hints, it’s simply time to lay back and accept the fact that Terminator Salvation will indeed be rated PG-13.

The first painfully depressing hint came in the form of a special Terminator Pizza Hut website that listed the movie as PG-13. Then, an ad for an upcoming extended look trailer to be aired on Fox also pinned the movie as being presented in teen-friendly fashion. Though these hints were really disheartening to see, the PG-13 rating was not being shown during TV spots for the movie, nor was it shown on the movie’s official website, which still slated the movie as “This Film Is Not Yet Rated.” For these reasons, hope remained that maybe someone had made a mistake and that the movie would earn its medal-of-honor R-rating. Unfortunately, that is not the case.

Today, I finally saw an actual TV spot which visually and audibly declared the movie as being rated PG-13. The movie’s official site is still unchanged, but this is just too much evidence ignore, and I’m not that stubborn, sadly.

This is still a pretty painful pill to swallow — especially because it was recently announced that Warner Brothers is willing to let the Stephen King’s It remake be R-rated, as it should be — but I’ve been more than vocal about my distaste for this decision, so we’ll just leave it as it is. Most people seem to be perfectly fine with Terminator going PG-13, so we can only wait and see how it all plays out on May 21, 2009.

It all became irrelevant the day they gave the job of director to McG.

He’s a complete no-talent. Why would an artificial intelligence create a sixty foot tall bipedal robot? I guess Skynet never watched Empire Strikes Back…. I know this movie is going to blow and it’s still going to be disappointing.

    Whatever.

Dark Knight was PG-13, as was the last Die Hard and they had a ton of action.

So, no headshots or anything gory, but whatever, from the trailer the action looks solid.

    Isn’t the equation “R – F-bomb = PG-13″?

ARE U KIDDING ME EVERYONE KEEPS TALKING ABOUT ITS OKAY DARK KNIGHT THIS DIE HARD THAT. LET GET THINGS STRAIGHT YES DARK KNIGHT WAS EXCELLENT BEING PG13 BUT HELLO PEOPLE ITS A SUPER HERO MOVIE BATMAN JOKER ARE U SERIOUS IT WOULD BE DUMB TO MAKE IT RATED R IT WOULD MAKE NO SENSE.DIE HARD SUCKED! IT WAS A FORGETFUL ACTION MOVIE. WHAT MADE DIE HARD SO GREAT WAS IT FELT REAL AND AN ADULT MOVIE THAT CARED LESS ABOUT OVER THE TOP STUNTS AND MORE ABOUT GRITTY ACTION. HOLLYWOOD HAS KILLED THE ADULT MOVIES ALL WE GET IS RATED R COMEDIES WHAT HAPPEN TO MAKING MOVIES FOR THE ART AND NOT MAKING MOVIES TO JUST MAKE MONEY I TRULY AM HURT AND SADDENED BY THIS DISCOVERY IM SORRY BUT MOVIES BASED ON WAR AND END OF HUMAN KIND IS AN ADULT THEMED MOVIE AND WHAT MADE THE TERMINATOR SERIES SO POPULAR BECAUSE IT WAS INTENSE, GRITTY AND BELIEVABLE. IT WASNT BASED ON FANTASY LIKE STAR WARS LORD OF THE RINGS STAR TREK ARE. (ALL MOVIES THAT ARE PG13 FOR A REASON) SO YES THIS WAS THE MOST ANTICIPATED MOVIE OF THE YEAR FOR ME BUT PG 13 RATING JUST PUT THIS MOVIE ON THE I MIGHT ORDER IT ON MY CABEL BOX MIGHT KEY WORD AND I WORK FOR THE CABLE COMPANY AND GET MOVIES HALF MOVIE EXECS IS KILLING ADULT MOVIES WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY!@
