Okay, so I'm a Gyllenhaal fan however, I'm not sure I buy him in this role. Maybe seeing the whole film will convince me. Seems like it would have been better to have a lesser known male lead in there. Definately not seeing the chemistry which could be annoying if they seem to force it. The visuals are amazing. I'm on the fence on this one.

Okay. It's a pretty looking film. All Bruchheimer films have flare. I actually watched this right next to Avatar's second trailer, which was also on IGN. Here's why I'm mentioning that. They both suffer from the same disease (the trailers, not the films).

I'm working on coining the term, because I haven't seen it elsewhere (if someone has seen a good one, post it), but its a reoccurring problem with trailers. Right now, I'm calling it Show-The-Whole-Movie-in-2-Minute-itus. This disease runs rampant in the movie entertainment sphere, as the entertainment world feels the need to explain the broader plot of the film in detail. The problem with this is, most every exciting shot/scene/fight sequence is shown, ruining the surprise of the protagonist avoiding a temple falling on top of him while simultaneously sliding in a sand avalanche. Pretty sweet! Too bad I already saw it for free on a trailer on teh interwebs.

In my opinion, this hurts those $12 ticket sales, but I doubt they care about my money. They want the money from the kids who can afford to go the theater every opening weekend and of course, fans of the Prince of Persia PS2 trilogy. I may still go see it, but I wish movie trailers would more ambiguously entice and make people ask intriguing questions, rather than show me a 2 minute version of the movie.
