This was a great movie. I have heard people saying it was too dark, not where i went to see it. It was perfect, and lets remember that the story takes place at night. After watching this version of A christmas Carol, i won't ever be satisfied with the other versions. The 3-D version is great. it's just like being there. The snow falling in the movie was beautiful. i am glad that i went to view it.

I don't agree. I was very visually impressed with the film, and think the animation worked perfectly, and was engrossing. Funny how nobody seems to have picked up on the macabre feel of this movie being fitting for the early Nov. release right after Halloween. This movie is a real "nightmare before christmas" type of experience.

I think that you need to be mature to appreciate the awesome storytelling and crafting of this film. It is visually stunning, and there is nothing that is motion capture that even comes close to this work. It is a serious dark film, but it is meant to be seen in IMAX 3 d. That is where you "get" the reason for the 'ride' aspects of the film, which obviously for Disney can translate into an actual "ride", but those things have nothing to do with what this film is about and why it is great.

This retelling of the old story is unique and very true to the actual book, thus for some people it might get confusing if have only seen TV movies of this story. You may not have have actually read the book, or understand what the story is about.

I think Jim Carrey is getting older and needs to start doing serious acting roles like this. There are few comidic moments, and it is truely a fan boys dream, as far as the special effects.

This movie, like polar express, is an instant classic, more for the performances.. and accents..than for the visuals.. but I am sure that the visuals on this will also stand the test of time..as a great and unique re telling of a timeless tale.

That being said..off topic.. I am loving the new prisoner...on AMC (TV) and hopes that everyone starts watching it so it does not get canceled.

I think I would have liked this more as a live action film. I am not sold on this method that Zemeckis is so obsessed with lately.
You do not need animation when you have Jim Carrey.
And talk about a great cast-- I would rather see all of them in a live action version.
As it stands, I kept thinking about Scrooged with Bill Murray while watching this one. Excellent review.
