New Poster, Synopsis & Red Band Trailer For Jude Law’s ‘Repo Man’

The Movie God   |

Repo Men Poster

Not much has been said about the upcoming science fiction movie Repo Man so far, but all of that changes now with the massive Merry Christmas release of the official synopsis, a new poster and image, and best of all, a shiny new Red Band trailer for all of us big kids to enjoy.

The movie sounds like it has a very cool concept in which Jude Law works as a Repo Man, though not the kind of repossession work that you and I are familiar with. See — in the future, a company has developed artificial organs that run a lot of cash, and when folks aren’t able to pay up, they send their best men out to reacquire the property…if you catch my drift. Of course, with a little twist of the plot, things will get very interesting between Law and his partner (Forest Whitaker).

Repo Man also stars Liev Schrieber, RZA, Alice Braga, and Carice van Houten. It is directed by Miguel Sapochnik and will be released everywhere on April 2, 2010.

Head on over to the other side to read the full synopsis and watch the NSFW trailer. Poster above and image below can both be enlarged with a click!

Official Synopsis

In the futuristic action-thriller Repo Men, humans have extended and improved our lives through highly sophisticated and expensive mechanical organs created by a company called The Union. The dark side of these medical breakthroughs is that if you don’t pay your bill, The Union sends its highly skilled repo men to take back its property…with no concern for your comfort or survival.

Jude Law plays Remy, one of the best organ repo men in the business. But when he suffers a cardiac failure on the job, he awakens to find himself fitted with the company’s top-of-the-line heart-replacement…as well as a hefty debt. But a side effect of the procedure is that his heart’s no longer in the job. When he can’t make the payments, The Union sends its toughest enforcer, Remy’s former partner Jake (Academy Award® winner Forest Whitaker), to track him down.

Now that the hunter has become the hunted, Remy joins Beth (Alice Braga), another debtor who teaches him how to vanish from the system. And as he and Jake embark on a chase across a landscape populated by maniacal friends and foes, one man will become a reluctant champion for thousands on the run.

Um… What? Really? I need details. This is the first I’ve heard of this. Is this riding on The Genetic Opera success or… who just gets an idea like this?

(I’m sorry this isn’t longer, but hopefully this will open up a discussion)

  • Captain Funbags

hmmm… It sounds like Repo! The Genetic Opera without any of the awesomeness.

  • jdvond

yeah? when i read the description it seemed very close to The Genetic Opera, will Jude Law bust out in song at least once?

  • korollocke

The title was originally to be called reposession mambo, given to the fact that people on the receaving end twitch while the reposesion is taking place. Heard about this 2 years ago.

  • douche mcdouce

Hey i have already seen this movie its called Repo! The genetic opera. only when Repo came out it was an original idea and part of a trilogy. The writers of Repoman must be huge fans of The gentic opera hell they even used part of Repo! The gentic opera’s title for the title of their movie.

    Dear Universal Pictures,
    You SUCK!

    Dear Eric Garcia,
    You also SUCK!

Repo! The Genetic Opera is the original organ repossession film. Y’all are just a little too slow on the uptake. I noticed Mr. Garcia’s book has too many similarities to Repo! The Genetic Opera. Try again and come up with something else.

    Thanks,
    GeneCo Mngmt
