If there was ever any doubt that the writers of ABC’s sitcom Better Off Ted weren’t geeks, the latest episode shows proof that they most definitely are.
Episode 5 of the second season shows two scientists heading down to the basement of their building where they discover all the discarded robots that have been disassembled for parts. The scene has an intentional pause outlining the entire room which reveals a Dalek — the ruthless killing robotic drones from the Doctor Who television series.
I’ve embedded the click here below from Hulu, but for all of our International readers who can’t watch it, it happens about 9 minutes into the episode. (Or you can just oogle at the screenshot.)
If anyone else spots other scifi references, please point em out and I’ll give credit accordingly.
A Hulu link? Bloody fantastic. I just LOVE being told I can’t watch a streaming video because I’m not in America. How damn lame. Couldn’t post an alternative link?

Gee sort of like how the BBC website does not allow a lot of videos and materials to be viewed outside of the UK. I just LOVE that.

I searched for one but unfortunately ABC isn’t keen on shopping their shows out to services that aren’t Hulu (which they have a stake in btw).
Sorry.

Dalek’s aren’t robotic drones they’re genetically engineered life forms.
Nice geek credentials.
Still cool that it wasn’t even an older Dalek and a newer one from the revival
im not sure if this link will work any better, im in america so i wouldnt know
but i wouldnt complain too much if i were a brit, u guys get the new doctor whos i usually have to wait months to even find out about new specials and then i have to get them off itunes
