The show should NOT bomb. If this mini-series can be anything LOTR-like, it will pave the way for more fantasy series like Farseer/Liveship, Shannara, Wheel of Time etc. @ericericksen

I've got my fingers crossed that this series will happen and it will be done with some passion. A Game of Thrones is a great novel, and seeing it produced for TV could make me love TV all over again. Of course, I'll wait for the DVD instead of actually paying for HBO service.
