The Golden Globes had plenty of things going on last night… a drunk Ricky Gervais, some Jay Leno jokes, and an impromptu interview of Tobey Maguire via the red carpet pre-show.
Maguire confirmed he would not be involved with the next Spider-Man movie, which he said in response to a question asked by one of NBC’s corespondents.

However, the star quickly bounced back and gave indication that he might know who the next director will be. If this is the case, it could validate the observations made by /Film’s Brendon Connelly that Nimrod Antal (Vacancy, Armored) is indeed among both the studio and Sam Raimi’s top list of directors to take over the franchise.
