I understand completely.

Considering I've had family serve in most branches, you'd think I'd know this, but alas, I'm uninformed.

no offense taken, it's just one of those little things, ya know? i believe every service member takes pride not only in having served our country, but also in their particular branch. being a Marine myself i like the extra fact that we are more elite. the Army has over 1,000,000 Soldiers, the Marine Corps has less than 250,000.

My apologies.

I think the reason for this is because for most people, soldiers are the military-trained, and regular Joe and Jane respond to "soldiers" as a simple generalization all can understand.

Certainly no offense meant by it.

As for "limited release": this is common among indie films. The movie had a very limited budget, and has a very limited release. The better it does in the few theaters that it gets released in, the more theaters they're put it in the next week.

Thanks for the comment!

if there's one thing that always got under my skin about the media the most, it's how every person in the military is automatically refered to as 'soldier'. the Army are soldiers, Navy are Seamen, Air Force are Airmen. but Marines are MARINES. once a Marine, always a Marine. (...and the Coast Guard are expendable. LOL!) that little rant aside, this was a great review. i certainly want to see the movie now, i'll probably have to wait for Netflix. i never understood the idea behind "limited releases", that to me says the producers & companies don't want people to see the movie, that doesn't make any sense. oh, and one other thing:

"...but to make sure to express with as much gratitude as humanly possible just how thankful we at Geeks of Doom are for everything the people in this documentary and every other soldier like them have endured in their service to our country."

--you're welcome. :D
