One of my favorite new books of last year was Sweet Tooth. Eisner-nominated writer/artist Jeff Lemire has a very unique style and vision and I think he’s a person you should be aware of.

I have been in love with the series since the beginning and now you can sample the first issue courtesy of DC/Vertigo.

The story follows Gus, a rare new breed of human/animal hybrid children, as he sets out with Jepperd, a hulking drifter, on a post-apocalyptic journey into the devastated American landscape to find ‘The Preserve’ a refuge for hybrids.
