Update On ‘Left 4 Dead 2′ DLC Game Modes

The Geeks of Doom   |

By Merkader

Left 4 Dead 2We are one day out from the release of new DLC for Left 4 Dead 2 and lots of new information is out.

Remember last week when I said there would be more than one new game mode? Yeah, well how does a minimum of twenty sound? [Read 'Left 4 Dead 2' Add-On Available Next Week.] That’s right, each week there will be a new special game type, what the Valve corporation is calling “Mutations.” You know like, kill all the zombies you can with a chainsaw that has unlimited gasoline mode. Sounds fun, right? This will certainly offer some variety to an already addicting game. Valve has also stated that they already have twenty lined up for release, with more presumably coming.

Also released is a new poster for the content, which you can see over at the official blog.

Spoiler

In the poster, if you look at the shadows in the back you can see there are only three of the original survivors — we knew that. But if you really look at the shadows, it looks like Zoey didn’t make it. We will mourn her passing.

Thank God Valve stuck to their word and continued supporting the first L4D and not forgetting about all those that felt screwed over when L4D2 came ou…….oh wait, THEY DIDN’T! :(
I really like L4D2 but it just doesn’t have that same feel that the first did. If someone hadn’t gifted it to me I wouldn’t have bought it.
Sigh, ok enough ranting, it isn’t anything that hasn’t been said a million times before, I just get upset wen I realize how much Valve blatantly lied. They used to be the PC game company that really was concerned with PC gamers.

Your spoiler’s wrong, though won’t give it away. Was able to pick up most of the achievements on the first play through and there’s also a couple of Avatar awwards to unlock…including the Gnome after playing 6 mutations!

Wow, the new level is so short you don’t even get to notice any of the new stuff they added in.
The 3 maps comprising the new level took me, 2 other human players, and 1 bot 49 minutes on advanced to complete and we looked around a little as we went.
This was really a very sorry excuse for DLC. In the finally none of us died and only the bot went down and needed to be rescued.
All I can say is give thanks this was free and….so this is the crap we get once they decided to ditch L4D1?
Maybe they focused more on the multiplayer which I don’t really see as the strong point of the L4D series but that could just be me.
