Season 2 Of ‘Eastbound And Down’ On The Way; To Be Set In Mexico

The Movie God   |

Eastbound and Down

HBO’s Eastbound and Down is one of the funnier shows we’ve seen on TV in recent memory. The dark comedy, which was more of a mini-series than an actual show, tells the story of former major league pitcher Kenny Powers (Danny McBride) and his life after sports. Being one of the cockiest, ignorant people ever to exist, you can usually find Powers insulting people, bragging to co-workers at the school he was hired at as a Physical Education teacher, and downing a few illegal substances in his determined and stubborn attempt at making it back to major leagues.

According to reports from Deadline Hollywood, after a long hiatus and fans wondering if Kenny Powers would ever return, the show is on its way back for a second season, and it will be set in Mexico.

This time around, after the not-so-happy-ending to the first season, Powers will find himself heading South of the border to play ball there. New cast members will also be joining the show. Michael Pena (Observe and Report, Crash) will be playing Powers’ friend and the owner of the Mexican baseball team he’ll play for. Also joining the cast is Ana de la Reguera (Nacho Libre, Cop Out), who will play the new love interest.

So far, the only cast member from the first season aside from McBride that will be returning is Steve Little, who is known as the psycho-obsessive fan and friend of Powers’, Stevie. It wouldn’t be surprising if some more members of the original cast came back in either a full role or in smaller cameo appearances.

Season two will not be the same without the brother’s family or April for that matter. We finally got to see a great shot of her breast and poof…..she did not make the cut.
