During the chaos that was San Diego Comic-Con 2010 Walt Disney Pictures held a little panel. Within this panel, a tiny little movie called Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides was touched on. Actual footage from the movie wasn’t shown, but a special guest by the name of Captain Jack Sparrow did make a surprise video appearance to the roar of the crowd.

Usually stuff like this doesn’t make its way to the eyes of everyone who can’t be at Comic-Con, but this particular footage has shown up online. The video is just Sparrow (Johnny Depp) relaxing outdoors with a bottle of rum and chatting about the upcoming movie to fans. There’s no movie footage or anything, but for fans of the movies who are excited about this new chapter, it’s exciting enough to see.

As I’ve said before, I really don’t get all the hate that exists for Dead Man’s Chest and At World’s End. Considering all of the crap we get in movies, these are some great summer movie fun with action and humor and fantasy all rolled into a big pirate adventure, and that’s a good time if you ask I.
