‘All Star Superman’ & ‘Batman: Year One’ Coming To DC Animated

MK2Fac3   |

In the wake of San Diego Comic-Con, we’ve gotten a ton of great news to have all of us geeks salivating for the upcoming months. And, as a matter of fact, some of those things have to do with DC Comics‘ straight-to-DVD animated projects.

Over at Dwayne McDuffie personal blog, he mentions one specific film, that I think we are all looking forward to, Grant Morrison and Frank Quitely‘s All Star Superman.

Mr. McDuffie also goes on to say when we should expect to see it in stores.

Also, Warner Home Video revealed the title of my next project, so I can finally talk about it. It’s a feature-length animated adaptation of one of the greatest stories in comic book history. And it will be out next spring.

Also, after going through DC’s official podcasts and following the reports on Twitter, they also mentioned an upcoming adaptation of Frank Miller‘s Batman: Year One and another Green Lantern animated feature.

All of these straight to DVD animated movies have been top notch so far! I’m excited to hear about these “all star” future projects being produced. Exciting times for DC! They might be hit or miss with their live action stuff but as far as animated features go, nobody does it better.

…great news about All-Star Superman. These DC direct to DVD projects have, in the main (didn’t care so much for the Wonder Woman), been better than the live action films. If they could all be as great adaptations as New Frontier, I would be happy, but then they started with a great graphic novel!
