Empress Eve   |

Return of the JediYesterday, George Lucas announced that the full Star Wars saga would finally be coming to Blu-ray [read Words You’ve Been Waiting To Read: ‘Star Wars’ Is Coming To Blu-ray!].

The Blu-ray announcement came during Star War Celebration V happening this weekend in Florida, where LucasFilm revealed a deleted scene from Return Of The Jedi, which will be included in this Blu-ray box set.

Now, the scene that was revealed has made its way online, so check it out here below!

The scene has Darth Vader on the second Death Star using the Force to telepathically speak to Luke Skywalker, urging him to join the Dark Side; while this is happening, Luke is constructing his own lightsaber in a cave on Tatooine, and we even see him igniting it!!!

So crazy to see something for the first time yet have it be so old

  • Gaybert

    Pathetic….sad, more adj. Please.

he looked a lot like the emperor, let’s hear it for vague foreshadowing!
I bet there are a dozen scenes they’re holding and every time lucas want to cash in he’ll throw one more in.
or maybe he’ll add another CGI char.
    Nice catch though…

I call CGI shenanigans on it. Mark Hamill has said before that they never filmed the scene.

  • Slipstream

I’m unclear if this was just a deleted, restored for the dvd scene or if this in fact will be added back in. If so… that would officially knock Shadows of the Empire out of the canon. Not that anything is sacred anymore, anyways.

@slipstream, what happens in shadows of empire?

    Darnit! Lucasfilm already struck Youtube!
    Anyone has an alternate URL?
