Lionsgate Releases First Full Trailer For ‘Saw 3D’

The Movie God   |

Back in July the first teaser trailer for Saw VII, now known as Saw 3D, was released, but didn’t show a whole lot. Now fans of the franchise have their first real look with the arrival of the first full trailer.

At the time, the movie was said to be called Saw 3D: The Traps Come Alive, but thankfully it looks like the sub-title was demoted to a tagline. It was also revealed back in April that Carey Elwes would finally be returning to the world of the Jigsaw killer after his mysterious exit from the original film, and you do get a little glimpse of him in this new trailer.

Apart from that, being someone who’s not nearly caught up with the Saw movies (I stopped after Saw II), I can’t say I really know what’s going on here. The trailer looks more like a trailer for a new theme park ride with clips from the movie mixed in, but maybe this makes sense to the faithful. If putting it in the title wasn’t enough, they’re hardcore selling the movie on the 3D here. And I’m pretty sure I saw the dude from Linkin Park, too.

SYNOPSIS

As a deadly battle rages over Jigsaw’s brutal legacy, a group of Jigsaw survivors gathers to seek the support of self-help guru and fellow survivor Bobby Dagen, a man whose own dark secrets unleash a new wave of terror…

The first theatrical feature to be shot exclusively on the cutting-edge SI-3D digital camera system, SAW 3D brings the horrifying games of Jigsaw to life like never before. The film stars Tobin Bell, Cary Elwes, Costas Mandylor, Betsy Russell and Sean Patrick Flanery.

Saw 3D is directed by Kevin Greutert and is scheduled for release on October 29, 2010.
