Isaiah Mustafa aka “The Old Spice Guy” is clearly having a moment. He’s won over many fans as the “Man Your Man Could Smell Like” in the Old Spice commercials. He’s also recently appeared on Chuck and has a role in an upcoming Tyler Perry movie.

Recently, Mustafa has been campaigning for the role of Marvel Comics character Luke Cage. He originally revealed his dream of playing Luke Cage during an interview on G4′s Attack of the Show. The interwebs latched onto this idea, and now there is an “Isaiah Mustafa as Luke Cage” Facebook page. However, history has shown that aggressive campaigns for comic book hero roles usually tend to backfire. The images of Sean Young in a poorly made Catwoman suit on Joan Rivers’ talkshow and Thomas Jane’s excellent (though unsuccessful) Jonah Hex photo spring to mind.

Mustafa has yet to be cast as Luke Cage in a film, but Marvel.com released a hilariously awesome Youtube video of Mustafa playing Luke Cage in a rather unique venue. Watch the awesomeness below.
