‘Batman 3′ Official Title + No Riddler, No 3D

Tom Cheredar   |

The third Batman film from director Christopher Nolan (The Dark Knight, Inception) is officially titled The Dark Knight Rises, Nolan revealed in a recent interview with Hero Complex.

While Nolan remained mum over which of Batman’s villainous rogues would make an appearance in The Dark Knight Rises, he did confirm that it was not The Riddler, despite heavy fan speculation and widely circulated rumors. The rumors were fueled in part by the recent casting of Inception star Tom Hardy in an as-of-yet unnamed yet major role in the third film [Read ‘Inception’ Star Tom Hardy Re-Teaming With Christopher Nolan On ‘Batman 3']. Nolan had previously revealed that Mr. Freeze was not in the running for villain either.

The director, who will helm the third film from a script he co-wrote with his brother Jonah, said that The Dark Knight Rises will not jump on the current 3D bandwagon.

…Warner Bros. had agreed with his argument that the film should resist the current 3-D craze and instead use high-definition approaches and IMAX cameras to strike out on a different cinematic path than the stereoscopic technology that, for better or worse, has become the dominant conversation in the blockbuster sector.

Also, a report surfaced this week that claimed that Nolan has begun his search for a female lead for the film who will be a new face in Hollywood in their late 20s or early 30s, someone who’s not a big-name celebrity.

I’m indifferent about the title, but I’m really glad it will NOT be in 3D. Talk about a fad that is getting old fast. I’m glad Nolan is more concerned with making a good movie than using a trendy gimmick to make tickets more expensive.

As for the villain… my money is on Catwoman.

Let’s hope the villain is harley quinn and the catwoman.

The villian is going to be Colonel Gumm or the Clcok King.
