Music legend Paul McCartney made an appearance last night on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon, where he performed two songs.
You can watch both performances here below.
The first video has host Jimmy Fallon singing a duet with McCartney called “Scrambled Eggs” sung to the tune of The Beatles hit “Yesterday.” McCartney has always said that “Scrambled Eggs” were the words he used as a placeholder when he came up with the melody for “Yesterday,” so this rendition has the original placeholder lyrics, never performed before. (I particularly like the verse about the Tofu Wings.) Fallon did a great job singing along for this very humorous version.
McCartney also played “Here Today,” in honor of his friend and former bandmate, the late John Lennon, who was killed 30 years ago December 8. The song is about what he would say to his friend if he were still alive today.
[UPDATE: I’ve embedded Fallon’s two interview segments with McCartney here below.]
And in case you didn’t know, Paul McCartney is awesome.
A few months I took my teenaged niece, who’s a big fan of Paul McCartney, to see one of his live concerts, and it was one of the greatest times I’ve ever had. The man truly is amazing, I can’t say enough about how great I think he is. Definitely check out the videos below from Late Night With Jimmy Fallon, and also be sure to catch Paul McCartney as the musical guest on this week’s Saturday Night Live.

Note: If the videos are slow to load, it’s probably because the NBC.com server is getting slammed by the millions of people searching for “Scrambled Eggs” (that’s my guess).
