Learn All You Need To Know About ‘World Of Warcraft: Cataclysm’ … Sorta

A new video is making its way around the internet that has a lot of people talking.
The video, quite simply, is just a girl talking about the new highly anticipated expansion pack, World of Warcraft: Cataclysm. The thing is, she’s having some George W. Bush-like issues talking about the new release.
Along with pronunciation issues, the video cuts a multitude of times, creating something of a Max Headroom effect and leading many to wonder if this is all just some big joke.
You can judge for yourself by click over to the other side and checking out the video now!
This became so popular that it was even shown on G4′s Attack of the Show (click to watch), who proceeded to spoof it in hilarious fashion with Caprica star Alessandra Torresani. The girl from the video then reacted to G4′s coverage of her — with a seemingly positive attitude — but also states that “people mispronounce words all the time,” meaning it was apparently no joke. The tee, by artist Gimetzco!, is on sale at RIPT only for today, Thursday, December 9, 2010 until midnight CST.
This shirt, which features two evil Gremlins joyriding with poor Gizmo tied to the top of the car, is a great offering just in time for the holidays, as Gremlins takes place during the Christmas season (and made our list of favorite holiday movies on Fix of Doom‘s recent Christmas Movies episode). Just remember, don’t get this shirt wet or expose it to sunlight, and definitely, don’t spill any food on it after midnight.
Also, the movie is on sale on DVD for only $5.49 (63% the regular price of $14.98) and Blu-ray for $15.49 (63% the regular price of $14.98) [...]

Geek Art: Comic Book Travel Art Prints

Earlier this year, artist Justin Van Genderen created some great Star Wars minimalist-style art prints.
Now, the artist has created five new travel-style posters based on comic book locations, which you can purchase here.
The posters include Superman flying above Metropolis; Spider-Man slinging over New York City, The Fantastic Four atop the Freedom Plaza in NYC, and Batman looking over a moonlit Gotham City. The first announcement teaser trailer for Transformers: Dark of the Moon has now arrived online. And though it’s dubbed an “announcement” teaser, it’s actually more like a traditional teaser and shows off some interesting things.
The movie comes once again from director Michael Bay, and is the third in the franchise following Transformers (2007) and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (2009).
In the announcement teaser trailer, we’re whisked back to 1969 during the Apollo 11 mission that saw Neil Armstrong become the first human being to step foot on the moon. But right after their historic accomplishment, the astronauts on the mission discover something even more remarkable.
Be sure to head on over to the other side now to check out this first trailer for Transformers: Dark of the Moon!

New ‘Mortal Kombat’ To Feature Playable Kratos From ‘God Of War’ On PS3

It’s always fun to see a popular character from a video game or movie showing up in other video games and movies…but this might just be the most perfect crossover we’ve seen so far.
According to the January issue of the Official PlayStation Magazine, the brand new installment in the Mortal Kombat franchise will feature a very special guest: the vicious and brutal warrior from the God of War series, Kratos.
Kratos was born to do battle and end lives, and the carnage left in his wake is among the bloodiest ever seen within the realms of entertainment. Considering what he’s fought through in the three God of War games, many might argue that there isn’t a Mortal Kombat character who could stand toe-to-toe with Kratos, but there’s no debating how perfect his inclusion in the one-on-one combat game is.
Not only will Kratos be available as a playable character, but he’ll also have his own unique moves (including fatalities), and his own God of War battle arena. [...]

Geek Gear: ‘Star Wars’ USB Hand Warmers

My fingers always get so cold as I type away all day long. It’d be really nice if there was something you could easily use to warm up your fingers.
Hopefully, such a device will be available real soon, as Japanese toy company Takara Tomy has come up with a USB hand warmer. Just plug in the device to a USB port to charge it for 2 hours, and you’ll get around 4 hours of hand-warming goodness!
Though the devices are not yet available for purchase and pricing has not be revealed, so far two Star Wars-themed devices — Darth Vader (in black); R2-D2 (in blue) — were created. There’s also a pink Hello Kitty version. See the pics here below [...]

Cate Blanchett & Others Added To The Cast Of ‘The Hobbit’

Another group of actors has been added to the cast of Peter Jackson‘s two-part adaptation of The Hobbit, and it includes a familiar face.
It’s being reported that Cate Blanchett will return to the role of Galadriel, the Elvin Lady of the Wood she played in the Lord of the Rings trilogy. The character never appeared in J.R.R. Tolkien‘s Hobbit, but as it goes with adaptations, Jackson has decided to use her in some aspect of the story.
Of Blanchett’s return, Jackson said “Cate is one of my favorite actors to work with and I couldn’t be more thrilled to have her reprise the role she so beautifully brought to life in the earlier films.”
Other newly cast actors include Ken Stott (King Arthur, Charlie Wilson’s War) as a Dwarven Lord named Balin, Sylvester McCoy (Doctor Who [1987-1989]) as a wizard named Radagast the Brown, and Mikael Persbrandt (Day and Night, Everlasting Moments), who will play a shape-shifter, Beorn. [...]

DVD Review: Shrek The Halls
Shrek The Halls
DVD
Directed Gary Trousdale
Starring Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy, Cameron Diaz, Antonio Banderas
Paramount Home Entertainment
Release Date: November 4, 2008
This 22-minute holiday tale, which originally aired on television in November 2007, takes place after the events of the animated motion picture Shrek the Third, and finds the big green ogre Shrek (Mike Myers) living happily ever after with his true love Fiona (Cameron Diaz) and their little green ogre babies.
While life’s been good for the big guy, he still doesn’t really know how to get into the Christmas spirit, and at first, Shrek doesn’t want to be bothered celebrating, but to make Fiona happy, he tries to be festive. Of course, the ever-pestering Donkey (Eddie Murphy) overdoes it and brings all the fairy tale creatures for party at Shrek’s home, much to the ogre’s dismay.
It turns out that Shrek doesn’t know how to celebrate the holiday and doesn’t even know the true meaning of Christmas, so it’s up to his friends and family to teach him by example [...]

Listen Up: Coldplay – Super Mario Bros Connection

Remember back in 2008 guitarist Joe Satriani sued the band Coldplay, claiming that the band’s hit song “Viva La Vida” was a rip off of his 2004 instrumental “If I Could Fly”? [Read Joe Satriani Sues Coldplay For Biting His Riffs.] While Satch unfortunately lost the suit (even though the two songs clearly sounded similar), someone else has uncovered that “Viva La Vida” sounds like another familiar tune.
YouTube user MrRoboto11 decided to have some fun with the song by posting a video that demonstrates that when the Coldplay tune is sped up, it sounds like the Star Power theme from the popular Nintendo video game Super Mario Bros.
You can listen in the comparison video here below.
My apologies in advance for posting a Coldplay song [...]
