Horror movie lovers will finally get to see Adam Green’s Hatchet II when it arrives on DVD and Blu-ray on February 1, 2011.

The sequel to 2007′s Hatchet was scheduled to get a limited theatrical run in AMC theaters back in October, which is unheard of for movies with an NC-17 rating. Surprisingly, AMC then pulled the film from theaters soon after its release [Read: Adam Green’s 'Hatchet 2' Pulled From AMC Theaters … But Why?].

Now, we’ll finally get to see Hatchet II in its original unrated and uncensored cut. See synopsis and DVD/Blu-ray bonus features here below.

The film stars Danielle Harris (Halloween), Tony Todd (Candyman), Kane Hodder (aka Jason Voorhees), Tom Holland (Director of Child’s Play), and R.A. Mihailoff (aka Leatherface), and sees the return of slasher Victor Crowley.

If you haven’t seen the first movie, definitely give it a shot. It’s indie horror at its best and a great throwback to the horror films of the 1980s. I didn’t get to see this sequel since it was only in theaters like 24 hours, but I’m really looking forward, especially considering the cast (Candyman!).

Official Synopsis

HATCHET II picks up right where the original Hatchet ended. The quiet but hot-tempered Marybeth (Danielle Harris, Halloween) barely escapes the clutches of the mysterious Crowley (Kane Hodder, Friday the 13th), who has already murdered all of Marybeth’s friends and other vacationers in New Orleans swamp country.

Marybeth recruits a team of hired guns and returns to the bayou to exact her revenge, but quickly discovers that even with an army of hunters at her side the murderous fury of Crowley cannot be contained. Ultimately, it will be up to Marybeth alone to defeat the seemingly indestructible Crowley, but not before learning the truth about a twisted secret he shares with her own family.
