First Look At The ‘Community’ Dungeons & Dragons Episode

Empress Eve   |

Community Dungeons And Dragons

This Thursday, the NBC comedy Community will enter the world of Dungeons & Dragons when the gang befriends a loner, inviting him into their group for a game of Advanced D&D.

NBC has released a promo still from the episode, which shows Pierce (Chevy Chase) studying up for the game with a D&D manual. Check out the image here below, along with a synopsis of the episode, including everyone’s D&D character names.

The show’s creator, Dan Harmon, has said that the episode will not see the group dressed in D&D garb or entering some kind of magical fantasy world. Instead, the gang will be gathered around a table, but this is Community — even the shows where they never leave the study room are great.

The episode, titled “Advanced Dungeons & Dragons,” airs on NBC on this Thursday, February 3, 2011 at 8PM ET/PT.

Synopsis

In this upcoming episode of COMMUNITY titled “Advanced Dungeons & Dragons,” (Airing Thursday, February 3 at 8:00p.m. PM/ET on NBC) the study group takes a journey into the dark world of Dungeons & Dragons with Abed at the helm. When Jeff (Joel McHale) becomes concerned about “Fat Neil,” (Guest Star Charley Koontz, “Gigantic”) a fellow Greendale student who’s a bit of a loner, the gang invites him to play a game of Dungeons & Dragons to boost his spirits and his confidence. But when Pierce (Chevy Chase) discovers he’s been excluded, he forces his way into the game and takes charge, disrupting their delicate plan.

The gang jumps whole-heartedly into their Dungeons & Dragons roles — Señor Chang becomes “C-Bone the Magnificent,” Shirley is “Brutalitops the Barbarian,” Troy is “Bing Bong the Archer,” Annie is “Hector the Well-Endowed,” Britta is “Lavernica” and Jeff is “Marrrrr.”

Have to say I really am looking forward to this weeks new episode. This has consistently been one of the funniest shows on TV the last two years, and the D&D thing is going to be great. I just re-watched the Christmas episode using my iphone on my lunch break at work…as a DISH customer/employee I use their TV Everywhere app on my phone. It’s awesome basically having my TV with me wherever I go. Can’t wait for the new episode!
