New Image From ‘Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn’ Of Esme Isle

Empress Eve   |

Twilight - Esme Isle

In honor of Valentine’s Day, the official Twilight Twitter account posted a new photo from Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, this time of Esme Isle.

The tweet said…

Happy Valentine’s Day from Isle Esme!

In the Twilight universe, Isle Esme is located off the coast of Rio de Janeiro and is owned by Esme Cullen, matriarch of the Cullen vampire clan. This is where Bella (Kristen Stewart) and Edward (Robert Pattinson) spend their honeymoon.

Previous holiday-posted photos from the production were Bella’s arm on the feather bed from the honeymoon (posted on Thanksgiving); the Swan family’s Christmas setting (posted on Christmas; see image here below); and a nude Bella and Edward on their wedding night (posted on MLK Day) [...]

Must See: Brutal & Brilliant ‘Twisted’ Disney Princesses

The Movie God   |

OK, so you may be looking at these and realize you’ve seen them before. That’s because they’re actually pretty old, originally hitting the ‘net a couple of years back. That said, sometimes you just don’t find something until well after others have seen it, and this is for those of you like myself who had yet to discover them!

If you’re among those of us seeing these images for the first time, they come from the incredibly talented character designer and story artist, Jeffrey Thomas. He takes almost all of the beloved Walt Disney Princesses and gives them a more realistic and often brutal makeover, dubbing his works “Twisted Princess.”

These are all incredibly good, as you shall see, but my personal favorite has to be Ariel from The Little Mermaid, who happens to have a dinglehopper for a left hand. Yes, this is fact. Now you have to click on over to see for yourself, don’t you? [...]

Official New ‘Spider-Man’ Title Announced; New Image Of Andrew Garfield In Full Costume

The Movie God   |

Columbia Pictures in association with Sony Pictures has officially announced the title of their upcoming Spider-Man reboot, being directed by Marc Webb.

Seeing as how Sam Raimi and company used the simple Spider-Man for their titles, it should come as no great shock that this time around they’re going with a nod to the comic books of old, titling the first in the planned franchise The Amazing Spider-Man.

The movie stars Andrew Garfield (The Social Network, The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus) as Peter Parker/Spidey, Emma Stone (Zombieland, Easy A) as Gwen Stacy, Rhys Ifans (Notting Hill, The Replacements) as Dr. Curt Connors/Lizard, Martin Sheen (Apocalypse Now, The Departed) as Uncle Ben, and Sally Field (Forrest Gump, Mrs. Doubtfire) as Aunt May.

Also released along with the announcement of the new title is the best image of Andrew Garfield as Spider-Man yet (seen above; click for much bigger size), in full costume including the mask that was missing the first time we saw the new suit. [...]

Video: ‘Captain America’ Meets ‘Team America’? Yes, Please

The Movie God   |

Captain America: The First Avenger

A video has been making the rounds recently and it’s quite brilliant.

The video is a trailer mash-up, taking the just-released Captain America: The First Avenger Super Bowl TV spot and adding a little spunk to it in the form of the classic Team America: World Police tune, “America, F*ck Yeah!”

Obviously if you’ve heard this song, you know it’s one of the greatest songs ever created. You also know there’s a bit of language involved that would be considered NSFW, so continue forward with caution.

You can see the Captain America/Team America mash-up by clicking over now. [...]

Watch Now: SNL’s British Movie ‘Don’ You Go Rounin’ Roun to Re Ro’

Empress Eve   |

SNL British Movie

On last night’s Saturday Night Live, which was hosted by Russell Brand, there was a totally hilarious video short called “British Movie,” which had Bill Hader in the lead role in a film called Don’ You Go Rounin’ Roun to Re Ro. The short is actually a trailer for the made-up British action film, which has critics raving things like “British” and “Extremely British.”

This trailer is a spoof on Guy Ritchie movies like Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, and other British action films, and if you’ve seen these types of movies, then you already know you can’t understand half the dialogue, even though it’s in English.

Watch the trailer here below for Don’ You Go Rounin’ Roun to Re Ro’, “a can’t-miss British film, if you like movies you cannot understand.” [...]

Watch Now: Is This Footage From The ‘Thundercats’ Movie Better Than The New Animated Series?

The Movie God   |

OK, allow us to catch you up on all things Thundercats.

Way back when (a few years ago), it was reported that a new movie based on the classic animated Thundercats was on the way from Warner Brothers. The movie adaptation never quite found its legs, and has been in production purgatory ever since. Then last June we found out that WB Animation was entering into a collaboration with Japan’s Studio4°C for a new Thundercats animated series that would have anime influences.

Just recently the first images from the animated series showed up online, but today comes a special bit of footage from the lost Thundercats CG movie that was once on the way. It’s pretty cheesy, to be completely honest, and a lot of work would have to be done if they decided to bring the movie back to life, but it is worth seeing for you fans.

You can see the Thundercats movie clip as well as an image from the upcoming animated series below by clicking on over now. [...]

Charlize Theron Latest To Join Ridley Scott’s ‘Prometheus’; Michael Fassbender Talks ‘Alien’ Connection

The Movie God   |

The biggest name so far to be cast in Ridley Scott‘s maybe-possibly Alien prequel, Prometheus, has been officially announced.

Reports are that Charlize Theron, who’s name has been one of many wanted for a role in the movie, has joined the cast in what’s assumed will be the female lead. Theron won an Oscar for her role in Monster, and is known for her work on films like The Devil’s Advocate, The Cider House Rules, The Italian Job, North Country, Æon Flux, and Hancock.

Theron joins a small-yet-growing cast that includes Michael Fassbender, who has starred in movies like 300, Inglourious Basterds, Centurion, and the upcoming X-Men: First Class (watch the trailer here), as well as Noomi Rapace, who appeared in The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and its Millennium Trilogy.

Fassbender also spoke to MTV recently and talked about the movie’s ties to Alien, and what drew him to the script. [...]

Analyzing The ‘X-Men: First Class’ Trailer

Henchman21   |

X-Men: First Class

Thursday gave us our first look at the trailer for X-Men: First Class, the next in the popular series of X-Men movies. The new movie, directed by Matthew Vaughn (Stardust, Kick-Ass), places the adventures in the early days of the team, giving us a look at a still-walking Charles Xavier (James McAvoy), a not yet completely evil Magneto (Michael Fassbender), and the first team of X-Men.

The first interesting thing to me is the trailer’s use of footage from the earlier X-Men films while setting the film firmly during the 1960s and the Cuban Missile Crisis. I can’t decide if they want the new film to stand on its own, or if they want to make this part of the earlier series. I can see how they could fit a young Beast into the movie, with the older version that appears in X3, but I am curious if they will try to match Emma Frost’s (January Jones) appearance in this film with the character’s appearance in Wolverine: Origins, or if they will just ignore it. As for setting the story during the Cuban Missile Crisis, I kind of wish they had set it a few years later and tied it into the first Apollo launch, as a nod to the original X-Men #1 [...]

‘Die Hard 5′ & Bruce Willis Find Their Director In Noam Murro

The Movie God   |

It’s been no secret since the release of Live Free or Die Hard, the fourth installment in the franchise, that star Bruce Willis was planning on making more at some point in the future.

Movement has been speeding up lately on what’s simply being called Die Hard 5 at the moment, and now the flick’s director has been chosen by 20th Century Fox and Willis. Deadline is reporting that Noam Murro will be taking the wheel on the project, which could become his third feature film.

Murro has only one completed credit to his name — 2008′s Smart People, which starred Ellen Page, Dennis Quaid, Thomas Hayden Church, and Sarah Jessica Parker — and has another currently in production called Hateship, Friendship, Courtship. These aren’t the credits of someone you would see directing a Die Hard movie, but these movies are also not what stood out to those who hired Murro — it was his work on some popular live-action Halo shorts made for the release of Halo: Reach that caught eyes and won him the job. You can see the videos below if you missed them. [...]
