Starz USA has released a new online teaser video for the upcoming series of Torchwood: Miracle Day. John Barrowman and Eve Myles return as Captain Jack Harkness and Gwen Cooper respectively in this fourth season of Torchwood, which takes them from Cardiff and London to the United States in an adventure that may “change what it means to be human forever.” You can view the teaser video at the bottom of this post.
Joining the cast this year is Mekhi Phifer, who portrays CIA Agent Rex Matheson investigating a global conspiracy intertwined with the Torchwood institute. Bill Pullman will also be appearing in the new series.
Miracle Day begins in the setting during a day when nobody dies. But as days progress; no deaths occur, causing concern for the world’s powers. According to the Starz plot outline:
With all the extra people, resources are finite. It’s said that in four month’s time, the human race will cease to be viable. But this can’t be a natural event – someone’s got to be behind it.
Torchwood: Miracle Day premieres on Friday, July 8 at 10pm ET/PT.
