David S. Goyer Talks Impending ‘Invisible Man’ Project

Talk about a forgettable project.

Back in 2008, it was announced that writer/director David S. Goyer was set to bring the story of The Invisible Man back to the big screen. Since then, news has gone pretty much cold. Well, Goyer — best known for his contributions to The Dark Knight — has gotten back at it, and is now talking as to what one should expect from the picture, and it sounds, interesting.

Goyer recently chatted with the LA Times, and revealed that the film will be similar to something like the recent Sherlock Holmes film, saying that “it’s a period film, but it’s period like Downey’s Sherlock Holmes.” He also goes on to compare it to something like The Mummy, but then again, that doesn’t really get anyone too excited, does it?

Personally, I think that’s a kick-ass idea. I don’t think the film is going to change the world, but a fun, Sherlock-like romp could be a blast. Here’s to hoping that that ultimately mirrors what we actually get.
