Star Wars Saga - Blu-ray

Today marks the long-awaited release of the Star Wars original and prequel trilogies on Blu-ray. They will be available in separate three film sets and the Complete Saga set, which includes all six films and an additional three discs loaded with hours of documentaries and a very generous selection of bonus features culled from the Lucasfilm archives. You can check out a complete list of extra features her below.

Star Wars: The Complete Saga (9-disc set, all six movies)
Star Wars: Prequel Blu-ray Trilogy (3-disc set with Episodes I-III)
Star Wars: Original Blu-ray Trilogy (3-disc set with Episodes IV-VI).

Regardless of how you may feel about the films or the multitude of infuriating alterations George Lucas has made to them over the years, there’s no denying that the Star Wars Blu-ray sets are destined to be among the biggest releases on the format this year. Longtime fans of the franchise have been clamoring for Lucas’ intergalactic saga that spanned six films and a multimedia empire of cartoons, games, books, toys, etc. to be released in ultra high-definition since Blu-ray players first hit the market several years ago.

Lucasfilm and 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment have really put a lot of time and effort into this release. Hopefully it will be well worth the wait and the price.
