NYCC 2011: ‘Ghost Rider: Spirit Of Vengeance’ Will Be A Hard PG-13
 |
Posted by Cinemumra | October 17th, 2011 at 2:54 pm |

Despite being a sequel to one of the worst films to come out of the recent golden age of comic book films, Ghost Rider: Spirit Of Vengeance has a ton going for it. Be it the creative team of Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor (Crank) being behind the camera, or Nicolas Cage, Cirian Hinds, and Idris Elba being in front of it, this film has all the makings of an impressive step up.
And at this the 2011 New York Comic-Con this weekend, those in attendance at the film’s panel got to see not only on some great, if not all that new, footage, but also a really great panel featuring the two aforementioned filmmakers [...]

Music Review: Tracer – Spaces In Between

Tracer
Spaces In Between
Cool Green Recordings
Released October 3, 2011 UK: CD
October 18, 2011 U.S.: CD
Recently my concern with new rock music is that musicians have stopped listening to blues. The old blues masters is where rock originated and just about every great rock song has a heavy blues foundation. Sure, the new guys say they love the blues but then rip into clone riffs of AC/DC, Led Zep, and all the usual classic rock bands ignoring the nuggets that made those bands great in the first place.
It takes balls to create a new sound by taking the most interesting parts and the intricacies of the greats to form something (almost) entirely your own. Tracer are not concerned with just copying the greats on debut album Spaces In Between. They’re interested in balls [...]

This year’s main event when it came to New York Comic-Con was definitely the much-awaited panel focusing on the upcoming Marvel release, The Avengers. Be it the fact that a brand new trailer had hit only days prior, or the fact that, you know, it’s the damn Avengers, this was the one panel the entire film world had been waiting for.
On the panel were Cobie Smulders, Clark Gregg, Tom Hiddleston, Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, and Kevin Feige, and those in attendance got some great looks at some really intriguing footage, which you can read about here below. (You can see the photos from the panel here below too.) [...]

Spoiler Talk: Footloose (2011)

May 2010- The Nightmare on Elm Street remake is atrocious. If you’ve had the displeasure of seeing it, not much more needs to be added.
June 2010- The Karate Kid remake makes ton of cash, but everybody over the age of 10 feels unclean after watching it as it’s 30 minutes too long and Jaden Smith is annoying.
October 2011- The Footloose remake gets it right.
Now we wait as Hollywood tries to remake\reboot\re_____ every single film from 1984. Let the laxative work its way into the system as we get sprayed out updated versions of Ghostbusters, Amadeus, Cocoon, and Breakin’. I know, if Breakin’ does well then we get to see the words Electric Boogaloo onscreen again [...]

Watch the opening scene here below.
This is just a taste of the series, but I can tell you that the rest of the episode followed in both art style and in the brutality of the action [...]

NYCC 2011 Video: Watch ‘The Avengers’ Cast Deliver The ‘Avengers Assemble!’ Battle Cry

Undeniably, the panel for Marvel’s The Avengers was the most highly anticipated event at this year’s New York Comic-Con. It was the final panel of the day on Saturday at the Con’s IGN Theater, and while it began at around 7pm, the line of people waiting to get in hours before snaked around the entire area, leaving a lot of fans who didn’t get in quite disappointed.
Thankfully, a bunch of us here at GoD did get in, so we’ll soon be bringing you some video, photos, and lots of information from the panel, including a description of the all-new footage shown. It’s DiCaprio Vs. DiCaprio On Christmas Day 2012 As ‘Great Gatsby’ Gets A Release Date
 |
Posted by Cinemumra | October 15th, 2011 at 9:00 pm |

Christmas 2012 just got a whole lot more interesting.
With Leonardo DiCaprio set to see the release of his Quentin Tarantino-directed slave picture, Django Unchained on Christmas Day next year, Box Office Mojo has revealed that another DiCaprio film has set the day as its debut date. The outlet reports that the actor’s turn as Jay Gatsby in Baz Luhrmann’s long gestating take on the F. Scott Fitzgerald story, The Great Gatsby will premiere on that date as well. Talk about a hunky way to spend Christmas.
Joking aside, the film co-stars Isla Fisher, Carey Mulligan and Tobey Maguire, and joins films like Life Of Pi and The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey in what should be a December to never forget.
I am an absolutely huge Luhrmann fan, and this cast is beyond reproach. The expectations are huge for this picture, so with a big date set, things appear to be living up to it. [...]

‘The Kids Are All Right’ Gets An HBO TV Series
 |
Posted by Cinemumra | October 15th, 2011 at 7:20 pm |

Well, this came out of nowhere.
According to reports, HBO has signed up to work on a TV series based around the award-winning film, The Kids Are All Right. The show will follow the five characters we met in the original film, and will find its director, Lisa Cholodenko, penning the script for the pilot episode.
Personally, as a huge fan of the original film, I do really think that a series could be quite comfortable within this world. I’m not totally sure that it’s a series that I’ve been clamoring to get, but knowing that Cholodenko will write the script and HBO will be behind the show, do have my hopes up. HBO has been giving us great series after great series, so with a top notch bit of source material, hopefully it can live up to its insane potential, because it’s more than there. With the right care, this thing could be really special. [...]

Thanks to the newly released trailer for the upcoming Daniel Radcliffe film, The Woman In Black we get to see what the company has to offer with regards to their next project.
Telling the story of a man who attempts to sell the house of a client who recently passed away, the film is a much discussed horror picture with a top tier cast and a beloved book to call its source material. The original book was also turned into a play and a TV movie, so it is definitely a bit of source material that has had its day in the sunshine.
