Watch These 8-Year-Olds Play Metallica’s ‘Enter Sandman’

You see kids on these competitive singing and dancing shows all the time and yeah, there’s some talent there, but let me tell you, this video of a group of 8-year-olds playing Metallica‘s “Enter Sandman” will blow all others away.
Check out this video here below of The Mini Band playing the Metallica song at the Bucklebury Beer Festival.
When I saw the story on this, I figured there’s no way a group of 8- to 10-year-olds (the drummer and bassist are both 10; the rest are 8) could pull off a Metallica song — NO WAY! Well, guess what? Not only do they pull it off, but they rock it so awesomely, all with an adorable little girl on lead guitar!!! [...]

EW Reunites Casts Of ‘Aliens’, ‘Fatal Attraction’, ‘The Princess Bride’ & ‘Office Space’

For it’s annual Cast Reunions issue Entertainment Weekly has once again assembled the stars of several notable films and television series for retrospective portraits. The magazine has also posted videos from four of the photo shoots on its website: The Princess Bride; Aliens; Fatal Attraction; and Office Space.
The videos make for a good watch and it’s cool to see most of the cast members of some of my favorite movies getting together to reminisce about the good old days. One thing that struck me as odd was Cary Elwes’ lack of a British accent in his interview for the Princess Bride shoot. Is he going Christian Bale on us? [...]

Movie Review: Real Steel

Real Steel
Directed by Shawn Levy
Starring Hugh Jackman, Evangeline Lilly, Dakota Goya
Release Date: October 7, 2011
Let’s clear the air right now, readers. Real Steel is on the surface an homage to the popular kids’ game Rock’em Sock’em Robots. It is hard to dispute that fact and I don’t think that the creators can even deny that there are similarities. What you don’t notice is that under the metal exterior lies a rather human story.
Real Steel‘s focuses on Charlie Kenton (Hugh Jackman), an ex-boxer down on his luck. Once, he went toe to toe with the champ, but as the world changed, so did boxing. Now, only robots compete in the squared circle, but even Charlie’s robot can’t cut a break. Things go from bad to worse when his ex-girlfriend passes away leaving him to care for his estranged son Max (Dakota Goyo). Charlie wants nothing to do with the kid and only takes him in exchange for some cash, but eventually he warms to the kid and fights to keep him [...]

 |
Posted by Waerloga69 | October 8th, 2011 at 6:22 pm |
Warlord of Mars: Fall of Barsoom #2
Written by Robert Place Napton
Illustrated by Roberto Castro
Colored by Alex Guimaraes
Lettered by Simon Bowland
Covers by Joe Jusko, Francesco Francavilla
Dynamite Entertainment
Release Date: August 31, 2011
Cover Price: $3.99
“100,000 years before John Carter first arrived on Mars…” I present to you Warlord of Mars: Fall of Barsoom #2. The atmosphere is depleted and the only way for the races of Mars to survive is to artificially create a new one. Of course, it would be easier if they weren’t constantly trying to kill one another.
I have to say this has to be the most unfriendly read I have had in a long while. Between the lack of a lead-in and the overabundance of storylines, I was thrown into a mess of a comic. I quoted the entire printed premise at the beginning of this review, by the way. Given that I was very familiar with the the original books, I felt I would be able to catch up quickly and obtain some semblance of the plot. I was mistaken. […]

Hey you lot, remember when DC Comics announced that they would be bringing 100 digital graphic novels exclusively to the Kindle Fire? I do, too! Well, apparently Barnes and Noble heard about this (they must read my work), and got all angry and decided that it would be in their best interest to pull each of these DC books from their physical store shelves, because… I’m sorry it really doesn’t make sense to me [...]

First Look At Lee Bermejo’s ‘Batman: Noel’
 |
Posted by MK2Fac3 | October 7th, 2011 at 5:04 pm |

DC Comics showcased some really cool artwork and information for the upcoming Lee Bermejo scripted and drawn Batman: Noel that is scheduled to come out later this Fall.
If you’re unaware of what it is that I’m talking about, Lee Bermejo, artist on the insanely beautiful Brian Azzarello-penned Joker graphic novel, will be taking his artistic prowess and expanding on it by branching out into the writing field on his own Batman-centric original graphic novel entitled Batman: Noel. And I’ve gotta give it to Bermejo on this one, not only does the preview art that DC released look really pretty, the concept for the story sounds awesome [...]
