THIS. IS. IT. The Bionic Man #4 is the issue that everyone’s been waiting for!!! This issue is ALL Steve Austin. And while there’s really no fighting, there’s some great action. This issue is, so far, my favorite one, and it’ll be yours too. Most of the plot threads in the previous three issues come together and our hero is ready to be turned loose to tackle all the things that haven’t been resolved. This is where the fun starts [...]

 |

With its debut just a handful of weeks away, the promotional machine behind the upcoming David Fincher film The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo keeps on keeping on.
This time, in small form. A minute long TV spot has been released for the film, and while it doesn’t show an absolutely groundbreaking amount of new footage, this spot does one thing insanely well: reiterate why everyone is talking about this sucker.
Watch the TV spot here below [...]

Letters by Chris Mowry
Covers by Art Adams (A), Bob Eggleton (B), Matt Frank (C)

If I could only give one piece of advice about Godzilla Legends #1, it would be to turn off any preconceived notions of a deeply thought-provoking book. Matt Frank and Jeff Prezenkowski have crafted a great monster book in Godzilla Legends #1; in just one issue they manage to tell a completely self-contained story all while packing it full of Kaiju mayhem. If you wanted something that left you pondering the intricacies of human existence you may want to look elsewhere; however, if you are in the market for giant lizards and space monsters crushing cities while locked in combat, then Godzilla Legends #1 is the book for you [...]

Variety is reporting that WB has not only given a green light to a film entitled Lego, a big screen take on the beloved toys, but that the team of Phil Lord and Chris Miller will be joined by Robot Chicken director Chris McKay [...]

‘Community’ Yanked From NBC’s Winter 2012 Lineup
 |
Posted by Cinemumra | November 14th, 2011 at 11:21 pm |

I’m not sure if this is at all a shocking move, but it’s definitely one that’s upset its fair share of geeks.
NBC released its Winter 2012 TV schedule, and while shows like 30 Rock and a project based on the life of Chelsea Handler will be both returning and making their debut respectively, one show will not be coming back, at least this season. Community will not be returning for the Winter 2012 season, taking a hiatus that at this point has no end [...]

Watch Michael J. Fox Have A ‘Back To The Future’ Flashback With ‘Johnny B. Goode’ Jam

Certain movie scenes live in the memory forever. Last Saturday night actor Michael J. Fox took the stage at a charity fundraiser in New York City for research into Parkinson’s disease. At the event, called A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Cure Parkinson’s, the actor took the stage to jam with the band on a rendition of the Chuck Berry classic “Johnny B. Goode,” just like Fox’s character did in Back to the Future.
You can watch the performance video here below [...]

3D Blu-ray Review: Bolt
 |
Posted by Cinemumra | November 14th, 2011 at 5:50 pm |

Bolt
3 Blu-ray Combo Pack
Directed by Chris Williams and Byron Howard
Starring John Travolta and Miley Cyrus
Walt Disney Pictures Home Entertainment
Release Date: November 8, 2011
When talking about the current state of Disney’s animation side of film production (and that’s Disney proper, not Pixar), things aren’t as good as they have been. Animated projects are not only seeing less and less respect with critics, but frankly, they don’t seem to be hitting the zeitgeist in general. However, there is the occasional gem.
Hitting theaters in 2008, Byron Howard and Chris Williams’ Bolt has become something of a rarity amongst the general collection of modern day Disney animation releases [...]

‘Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows’ Director David Yates Developing ‘Doctor Who’ Movie

It’s being reported that David Yates and the BBC are set to begin develop a Doctor Who movie with hopes of turning the property into one of the next big franchises.
Yates is working with BBC Worldwide executive vice president of programming and production Jane Tranter, and potential writers are being looked at right now. Yates says that they’re not rushing the project, and that two to three years will be taken to make sure they get things right, explaining that it will require “quite a radical transformation to take it into the bigger arena.” [...]

This has been floating around the Net for a while now, but not long after the first trailer for the latest Adam Sandler “comedy” Jack & Jill was released some one created a video that cleverly intercut clips from the trailer with a scene from the 1979 Paul Schrader film Hardcore. You can watch it here below [...]

Behold Diego Latorre’s Intriguing Concept Art From ‘The Crow’ Reboot

The reboot of The Crow that has been in development for more than two years has so far gone through two directors and two lead actors and shown no signs of progress. Last month Juan Carlos Fresnadillo (28 Weeks Later) departed the project and prospective star Bradley Cooper also moved on to greener pastures, but before they left Fresnadillo was working with comic artist Diego Latorre on conceptual designs for the film including many renderings of what Cooper would look like as Eric Draven, the murdered guitarist who returns from the dead to avenge his death and that of his girlfriend Shelley. You can check out a sample image here below [...]

‘Mad Max’ Director George Miller Discusses His Plans For Upcoming Sequel ‘Fury Road’
 |
Posted by BAADASSSSS! | November 14th, 2011 at 12:00 pm |

“When you actually work on a film, they do invade you,” renowned Australian filmmaker George Miller said in an interview with IndieWire this week while promoting his latest movie, the computer-animated sequel Happy Feet 2. “The characters, they’re like imaginary characters in your head and they’re sort of part of your family in a strange way. So like family, they keep on intruding.”
The former physician-turned-director wasn’t referring to the singing and dancing penguins of the Happy Feet movies, but rather about the characters of the Mad Max trilogy that made his star Mel Gibson an international household name and established Miller as a master orchestrator of grand scale action and emotional complexity [...]
