The announcement trailer for The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey is now online!

The Peter Jackson film, which is a prequel to his epic award-winning Lord of the Rings trilogy, stars Martin Freeman as the hobbit Bilbo Baggins.

Watch it here below.

The teaser trailer will also be running ahead of showings of The Adventures of Tintin starting tomorrow.

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey hits theaters on December 14, 2012 with its second part, The Hobbit: There and Back Again, scheduled for December 13, 2013.
