Watch Now: Montage Of Tom Cruise’s Best Running Scenes
 |
Posted by BAADASSSSS! | December 20th, 2011 at 10:00 pm |

Every classic movie star has their calling card: Marilyn Monroe had her skirt blown up, John Wayne swaggered, and Paul Newman had his magical baby blues.
Tom Cruise, on the other hand, just runs. Sure he has that thousand-watt “It’s good to be Cruise” smile but he doesn’t use it on screen as much these days. Time Magazine’s video editor Valerie Lapinski has assembled a montage of some of the world’s most famous Scientologist’s best on-screen running scenes. [...]

Will Daniel Craig Be James Bond Five More Times?

What would you say if asked whether you’d like to see Daniel Craig play James Bond in five more films? Which would bring his grand total to eight Bond movies following the release of his third turn in the iconic role, titled Skyfall.
One producer of the franchise, Michael G. Wilson, wants just that. In an interview recently, Wilson talked about Craig in the role, saying “Daniel’s been a terrific Bond, a superb actor, and a terrific man” before going on to why he wants to see him hit that eighth mark. [...]

Watch Now: A Very Arkham City Christmas
 |
Posted by MK2Fac3 | December 20th, 2011 at 6:00 pm |

Blue Goggles Films has put together a bit of a love letter/holiday gift to the makers and fans of Batman: Arkham City with “A Very Arkham City Christmas,” a holiday tale that’s set in the universe of the popular game.
In the short film, writer/director Ben Moody shows us a story in which we see two of The Penguin’s henchman who try to share a Christmas moment with each other after they’ve escaped from a beatdown from The Bat, or so they think. Things don’t go quite as well as they planned, however. In Arkham City, you can never escape The Dark Knight. [...]

Over 15,000 People Claim ‘Star Wars’ As A Religion In Czech Republic Census

During a recent census in the Czech Republic, 15,070 people stated that they were members of the Knights of the Jedi religion, based, of course, on the Star Wars universe created by George Lucas.
While still a small number in comparison to others (over 1 million checked off Catholicism and over half of the country chose not to answer the question) it’s still intriguing to see that number of people who feel that a religion based on something we all know to be fictional is a better choice for their lifestyles than one of the other more conventional religions. ‘Clash Of The Titans 2′ Trailer Unleashes Its Wrath

The first trailer for the follow-up to 2010′s Clash of the Titans remake, titled Wrath of the Titans, has made its way online.
The sequel is surprising for multiple reasons, most notable of which is the fact that the original did not perform as well as was hoped both critically and financially (making only a small amount more than its budget domestically—though it did do much better overseas—and being generally panned by critics), followed by the fact that almost the entire cast came back to reprise their roles. [...]

At a press conference, the director revealed that, if he were to shoot the sequels, that since the final two books are “very much one story,” the films would ultimately be shot back to back [...]

Bluewater Comics

I have to admit, Logan’s Run: Aftermath #4 took me by surprise. It was actually a really good science fiction story, that, like all good Sci-Fi stories, is routed in humanity.
This issue is basically the story of Tara, the main character’s long-time rival. Instead of making her a villain just for the sake of having an antagonist, writer Paul J. Salamoff gives her a very credible “origin” story that shows her slow descent into conflict with Logan [...]

CalTech Students Turn NYC Art Into Giant ‘Portal’ Companion Cube

There’s a lot of great works of art out there, many of which reside in public places for all the world to see.
long as it’s not damaging to said works of art.
And while we all have much respect for said works of art, there’s not a thing wrong with wanting to geek things up a bit from time to time, so long as it’s not damaging to said works of art.
Which brings us to Astor Place in New York City’s Manhattan borough, home of the sculpture called Alamo (seen here). Sometimes also called “The Cube,” this work of art was all but begging for a geek makeover in the form of a Portal Weighted Companion Cube costume. [...]

‘Batman (’66)’ Opening Sequence Created With Legos
 |
Posted by MK2Fac3 | December 19th, 2011 at 7:53 pm |

Batman 66‘s opening title sequence has been recreated by YouTube user lgfb1film through the magic of Legos and stop-motion animation. And it is glorious. Watch the video here below.
In what could possibly be described as the greatest thing that you will see today, the Lego adaptation of the classic series’ introduction has painstakingly been recreated down to minor details including a cloth cowl and mask for both Batman and Robin, as well as a Bat-symbol and Bat-mobile created with Legos. Each one of these Legos has been modified by the creator of this video to capture the essence of the 1966 television series [...]

See Cover Art Come To Life In ‘Star Wars’ Time Lapsed Video
 |
Posted by MK2Fac3 | December 19th, 2011 at 3:30 pm |

Dark Horse Comics released a time lapsed video on Monday through io9 that shows the artistic process of creating the cover for the third issue of the upcoming Star Wars: Blood Dies – Boba Fett Is Dead #3 by artist Chris Scalf.
Time-lapsed art videos are always really cool to me, especially with digital art as it’s something that greatly interests me. And this video from Chris Scalf is no exception. In the video we see the cover grow from a digital sketch to a fully realized comic book cover through the process of digitally inking and colors all of the minute details. [...]
