Watch Now: ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ Fan-Made Opening Credits

There hasn’t been an opening credits sequence on a Batman movie since the campy and interminable Batman & Robin. Christopher Nolan usually saves them for the end credits. But that didn’t stop Bat-fan and budding filmmaker Doğan Can Gündoğdu from fulfilling his vision of an opening credits montage for The Dark Knight Rises, Nolan’s farewell to Gotham City (but not the cinematic DC universe – he’s producing the new Superman movie Man of Steel).
You can watch the fan-made video here below.
Scored to “Suck Me Up Dub” by Massive Attack, Can Gündoğdu’s credits montage is a moody and well-crafted sequence prominently alluding to known plot elements from the upcoming film and reminiscent of the work of Imaginary Forces, the post-production facility and acclaimed creator of the credits sequences for movies like Seven and Unbreakable. The animation and modeling was done by Günışığı Cihangir.
