Leonard Nimoy Will Guest On ‘The Big Bang Theory’

Star Trek‘s Leonard Nimoy will make a guest appearance on the CBS series The Big Bang Theory for its March 29 episode.
THR reports that Nimoy, who played the character of Spock in the original 1960′s Star Trek series and its subsequent movies, including JJ Abrams’ 2009 reboot, will voice the role of Spock during a dream sequence where he’ll speak to Sheldon, played by Jim Parsons.
On the series, Sheldon, the most obsessive of his group of young scientist geeks friends, is a big fan of Star Trek and Leonard Nimoy. One of the biggest moments on the show was when Sheldon’s neighbor Penny gifts him a napkin that was used then signed by Nimoy [...]

Comic Review: Usagi Yojimbo #144
 |
Posted by Spartacus! | February 29th, 2012 at 6:13 pm |

Usagi Yojimbo #144
Created, Written and Illustrated by Stan Sakai
Cover Colors by Tom Luth
Dark Horse Comics
Release Date: February 29, 2012
Cover Price: $3.50
Last month, in my review of Usagi Yojimbo #143, I ended by saying that I predict that the next issue would have plenty of action. If I knew then what I know now I would have replaced ‘action’ with ‘violence.’ Usagi Yojimbo #144 is a violent, violent comic.
In the last issue, the ronin rabbit came into a new town and befriended Mitsui, an old, hardworking soy sauce brewer whose warehouse was being threatened by the local competition. Well, surprise, the thugs have returned in this issue. One of Mitusis’ staff is killed and Usagi sets out with an ineffectual sheriff to arrest the men responsible. They resist arrest. Swords are unsheathed [...]

The ‘Indiana Jones’ Films Are Coming To Blu-ray This Fall

If adventure has a name it must be Indiana Jones. The legendary film franchise that made Harrison Ford a household name and solidified the reputations of Steven Spielberg and George Lucas as the kings of Hollywood blockbuster filmmaking has been one of the more notable absences from getting the Blu-ray treatment so far, but all that is about to change. The Complete Indiana Jones Blu-ray Collection is finally heading our way courtesy of Lucasfilm Ltd. and Paramount Home Media Distribution.
You can watch a trailer for the release here below.
The Complete Indiana Jones Blu-ray Collection box set will include all four Indiana Jones movies (yes even Kingdom of the Crystal Skull) remastered in high-definition and featuring a “best of” collection of documentaries, interviews, featurettes, and a few additional bonus features as yet unknown. Maybe they’ll finally include those fabled deleted scenes from Raiders of the Lost Ark. Lord knows the Lucasfilm archives are teeming with great material for Blu-ray extras. Lucas didn’t hold out on us (much) when he released the Star Wars Blu-ray set last year [...]

Watch The Epic New Trailer For ‘The Avengers’

After the muted and mixed response that greeted yesterday’s unveiling of the film’s new poster, Marvel Studios and Paramount Pictures have released the second and most likely final trailer for The Avengers.
You can watch it here below.
Now this is more like it. I had great hope that the new trailer would be the eyeball-roasting blast of awesomeness it really has to be, and needless to say that hope was not misplaced. Any and all doubts I may have had about this movie have officially been chucked out the window where they will not be caught in mid-air by the Hulk [...]

‘Prometheus’ Viral Campaign Launches with a Trip to the Year 2023 with Guy Pearce

Yesterday the mystery surrounding the nature of the connection between Ridley Scott‘s 1979 sci-fi horror classic Alien and his upcoming prequel-cum-return to the genre that made him a world-renowned filmmaker, Prometheus, became a great deal clearer with the director revealed that actor Guy Pearce would be playing a character named Peter Weyland, the owner of the titular spaceship and the instigator of the voyage into the unknown that the movie revolves around.
Today the Prometheus viral marketing campaign has launched with co-writer Damon Lindelof Tweeting a link to a video featuring Pearce as Weyland giving a TED Talk in 2023 that foreshadows the events of the movie. [...]

The GoD List: Web Comics For February 29, 2012
 |
Posted by MK2Fac3 | February 29th, 2012 at 12:00 pm |

Each and every week “The Crazy 88′s” MK2Fac3 and “Fox Force Five” Henchman21 read a lot of (web) comics. Seriously you guys, a lot of (web) comics. Maybe too many (web) comics. I mean, it is possible… theoretically. They look forward to some more than others, I mean, who doesn’t, right? So, let’s take a look into the depths of their pull lists RSS Feeds, grab some (web) comics, and we’ll let YOU know what the top books web comics to look forward to are for the week of February 29, 2012. Single issues panels and trades pages, they’re all here.
We hardly ever talk about web comics here on The GoD List, but that doesn’t mean that there aren’t some fantastic ones out there. In fact, they are probably more great web comics available for free all across the Internet than there are comics available in stores for $2.99 and up. So, with that in mind, and considering that this week is extremely light in print comics considering the February leap day/fifth week syndrome that has infected comic book publishers, we’re turning our attention to web comics [...]

Watch Now: ‘Game Of Thrones’ Season 2 Trailer ‘Power and Grace

Another wonderful trailer for season 2 of HBO’s hit series Game of Thrones has been released, and much like the last, it too will make the wait to April all the more excruciating to bear.
There’s already a significant amount of storylines set up just by this short trailer—to a point where it better sets up its storylines than a lot of full-length feature films do these days. Yet another testament to the job HBO is doing adapting these complex stories and characters from the mind of author George R.R. Martin. [...]
